Apparently it doesn't matter, because Chelsea are willing to pay up anyway. Of course 80m is ridiculous. As much as I like Morata the facts speak for themselves: Morata was a bench player both for Real and for us.

They are able to sell high because Real have won three CL titles in quick succession. They're probably the best team out there right now. It's only normal for other clubs to assume that every player who is part of that team will be world class.
Yes, but the real question isn't why they sell high, it's why we sell so cheap. We are the 3rd most successful club in Europe since 2013, after Real and Barca. By the same logic we should be selling very high.

Dude, we sold Pogba for 105mln, how is that cheap? Each transfer is a different story. Real also let James go on a loan.

That was a good deal. But we let Tevez, Llorente and Alves for free. It doesn't get any cheaper than that and they were all worth at least something. But we know for a fact that we sold Bonucci and Vidal below market value. We sold Vidal for 37M and two years later when he's 30 Bayern rejected 65M for him. And he wasn't even that good at Bayern compared to Juve. Prices have gone up but not by that much. And last year we got 50M offer for Bonucci and now we sell for 40m.

As I said, every transfer is a different story. We all know what Tevez is like when unhappy, City sold him for freaking 12mln to us while he scored over 50 goals in two seasons. When he asked to be allowed to go home what were we supposed to say? He specifically wanted Boca who cannot pay a lot.

Llorente, Alves we also got for free and they served us well while being here. Why would Juve make it difficult for them in return? All three players you mentioned were over 30yo when they left.

Bonucci and Vidal are different examples. Juve wanted to get rid of them and they wanted to leave apparently. We got Vidal for 12mln and sold for 40 while having four excellent seasons of him in our shirt. Bonucci is a 30yo CB. When was the last time any club paid such an amount for a player in his age?

This is the Juve way. The relation between the club and players is based on a mutual respect.

You're giving an explanation as to why these players left, it doesn't change the fact that they all left for a price well below their market value.

For comparison, let's wait and see how much we pay for Bernardeschi. He has 1 year left on his contract, he's not extending and he only wants Juve apparently, but they're still going to milk us.

I am Morata's biggest fan. Absolutely love him, but Chelsea just got assfucked, worse than we did on the BonBon and Vidal deals combined.

80m are you fucking kidding me.

Tevez, Alves and Llorrente shouldn't be compared to the likes of Morata. Tevez had homesickness issues. Alves was stirring up problems. But the most important thing about these 3 is that they were of considerable age at which nobody is going to splash big money. They had little residual value. I agree with Vidal and Bonucci though, they were sold well below what we could've gotten

He had 27 goals last season, at a rate of more than a goal per 90 minutes
If he starts more games, that ratio will go down dramatically. Most of his goals last season came against the bottom 10/relegation teams in Liga.

I love Morata but he doesn't convince me as a goalscorer. As of now, Chelsea have clearly downgraded from Costa to Morata.

Yes but a reason of player leaving always influences the price.

Wouldn't that be the case for most players? Easier to score against weaker teams. Don't forget the kind of goals he scored for Juve.
