Agree with your second part (he wouldn't do badly, but worse than in England), but he'd be a disaster at FB. HIs positioning would be far too poor, you're basically assuming that we'll just completely transform his tactical abilities.
We did with Asamoah.

We keep talking about Real Madrid and them being his boyhood club, but not mentioning that he has already played for Real Madrid and left them because he wanted to play here, he basically forced his way out for a lesser fee than Real Madrid could have got so he could come here.

It's not like it is going to be his dream to play for Real Madrid one day, that's done. Until such time that Real Madrid will build an attack around him, which isn't any time soon, then he isn't going to want to go back there.
Morata's biggest problem is Ronaldo of course. They have similar positioning on the field and are both very good at reading the game and knowing where to be to score tap in goals. As long as Ronaldo scores 50 goals a season, Morata will not be their focal point.

I think he improved massively from a tactical point of view.

@Fred said it best though: Bale won't want to play that position anyway.
He did, but so do most players from ~23-26 years of age, and his positioning at the defensive/b2b midfield role he was occupying before was good before as well.

I think despite Real fan's lack of appreciation for him, Bale is actually a very good player. That being said, he is not worth neither the wages he commands nor the huge transfer fee.
He has amazing pace, amazing crosses, amazing stamina, amazing shot and very good dribbling. He has everything you'd want from a winger. Even in a central role he excelled in tottenham. They screwed him mentally when they started booing him every time he misses a chance or doesnt pass to Ronaldo. Time will tell whether he has the mental strength to win back the ungrateful madrid crowd again.

Spanish crowds will never appreciate someone who can't play those little one two's and dribble in tight spaces, I doubt he'll ever be appreciated in Spain. Probably the same in Italy too, if he want's appreciation, then his place is the EPL tbh.

Alvaro had a slow start here but he still scored 15 goals in 2065 min according to whoscored. So if he never had the slow start and played as the starter for the year he would be able to hit 30 goals in all competitions .. maybe even more! Really good player.

I hope the Morata-Tevez partnership continues.
