Anyone caught Alan Smith saying 'Morata doesnt have much pace' ? I've forgotten in what context he was making that statement.
Which Alan Smith is it, the former Arsenal striker?

Most people have no clue about Morata, or Llorente for that matter. When Llorente came on they said he was the same kind of striker, because he was 6'5".

he also missed the entire pre seasons plus the first month of september. to it makes sense that he would be burned out when he hasnt had proper training to try and blend.

ur 30 years old. u actually expect us to believe u were watching juve when u were 4/5 years old? did u order satellite all by urself?

i hate liars
I'm 31 bro. I was 6 when I watched the '90 WC with my Uncle and cousin, who were Juve fans. I was brought up supporting Juve. I probably watched a Juve match before then with them but I can't remember any matches before that WC, that's the first time I remember getting really into football, and over the next several years I'd go over to my Uncle's to watch Juve matches. I got to go to WC '94 2 matches with them, for Italy drawing Mexico 1-1 in Washington, and then the QF at Foxborough with Italy beating Nigeria 2-1. That second match is still my favourite live sporting experience of all time.

The more I see him play, the more confident I am to say that Marotta got a gem. Outstanding player. He seems to thrive in big games. He is tough, he can run and he can play.

Absolutely vital during this Euro run.
The extra space there is in these big European games suits him.

He hasn't figured out yet how to become consistently effective in games against Serie A teams who give Juve's forwards much less space and where counter-attacking chances are very limited.

To be fair. He has only started 1 Serie A match in the last 8 rounds.

But this is definitely his issue thus far. Figuring out how to link up with his teammates in a more patient build-up.

I see no reason why you would lie, I believe you. :) Nice story, WC 94 is a classic I think, I was nine years old and I am from Sweden who finished third. So I remember it very well, and I remember staying up late during the summer to see the games and being soooo tired. At that point I was a Juve fan though I don't remember much of it, all I have is a lot of jerseys, scarfs, and other items pointing towards Juve. I don't remember how much I cheered for Italy (probably nothing at the time, I have no other bonds to Italy than my personal affection that has grown over the years). I have never had anyone to share my love for Juventus with so I envy you having such a close personal relationship with others.

Sorry for going OT.

Morata had a brilliant game yesterday, I hope we can keep him for many years and develop him. I also hope we rests ALL expected starters to before next RM game. We have won the league so I really don't care if we loose next game, but I also expect the replacement to be very eager to prove themselves in order to potentially get a spot against RM. We will likely look clueless but seriously we are playing against Cagliari, they are just as clueless anyway. They are playing to avoid relegation so they will look to take advantage of an uninspired team, better to put on 11 inspired players then. That way we will also avoid potential injuries.

Sweden had such a strong team. Didn't they come 2nd at the '92 Euros as well? My older sister's friend Glen was a a big fan, so Brazil-Sweden was a big big match. He loved Kennet Andersson. I remember playing football in the backyard before the world cup and he'd be Andersson and I'd pretend to be Peruzzi even though he wasn't in the National team, and he'd shoot on me for hours. Great memories.

Hehe, similar to me and my friend. I remember emulating the Swedish goals with a friend day in and day out. Since a lot of the goals was from crosses I think that's where I learned and developed my "crossing skills". I am rusty today every time I play (only play 10-15 games a year on amateur level) so I can never really perform well but I can always put in a good cross. :D
Sweden finished third and surprised everyone I think, but I don't think anyone could have expected Sweden to finish third in WC '94. I didn't look nice I think from neutral eyes (Sweden played like South Korea against Italy, but in every game) but as a Swede I didn't care.
As you say though, great memories! :)

I see that I'm not the only one that was there.

Foxborough being about 40 minutes away from my home, there was really no excuse for me to not go to that match

That was my first real contact with football, where all started.
For me, that WC was magical. Those were the years i started to play in my school`s junior leagues and i got a lot of inspiration from Romario and Bebeto, heck,..all that brazilian team which was strong as hell.

Indeedilydoo! It was crazy how good it was now looking back. Italy still went toe to toe. Says a lot about how bloody well Italy was at the time. Compare that team to today's...

What a fucking stud. I love it when he gets all ornery while tracking back... love the determination, the passion. Very professional performance against his old side, great maturity, rose to the challenge.

We've got a live one here, folks. If he stays, we're going to see some tremendous things out of Alvaro.
