Real Madrid's fans gave him a standing ovation when he was subbed off.

What is with their fans and standing ovations for other teams' players and then they boo their own players?

Morata explains celebration snub
By Football Espana staff

Alvaro Morata says he made a pact before Tuesday’s match between Juventus and Real Madrid that he would not celebrate if he scored a goal.
The 22-year-old was quoted as saying prior to the Champions League semi-final first leg that he had nothing to prove to his former club but nonetheless refused to celebrate his opening strike against Los Blancos.
“I’m happy that [Juve] won, but eliminating Madrid will still be difficult,” he said to La 1 after the game.
“Winning [the first leg] was important, but we know that Madrid are even more dangerous at the [Santiago] Bernabeu.
“We have a lot of work to do this week ahead of the second leg.
“[My former Madrid teammates] are still my friends off the pitch.
“My words [about not having to prove myself to Madrid] were misinterpreted. I’ve never said a single bad word about Madrid.
“I said that I wouldn’t celebrate a goal [against them]. I’m grateful to the Coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and the club, but I’m happy at Juventus.
“We don’t hold an advantage over Madrid. They have a great team and it’ll be very difficult for us.”

Bit annoyed with why he didn't celebrate he doesn't owe madrid jack shit if you ask me
Born in Madrid, probably supports them on some level and they like him enough to put a buyback clause in his sale.

Went from being a nobody to a Madrid first team player, they've gave him his lifestyle, his dream and his money up until recently. Yeah if that was me i'd be humble too. If you part ways on bad terms then it's different but ffs there's absolutely nothing wrong with not jumping about celebrating.

And also, the plays he and Tevez were running were just beautiful. The combination play was amazing. The sort of thing Conte clearly had in mind when he went for 2 up front only we had fodder starting up front. Madrid had no idea how to react to 2 strikers flicking it to each other perfectly.

If he was serious about wanting a long term career at Juve and not thinking about moving back to madrid I wouldn't give a shit and still celebrate, it is the Semi finals of the CL, playing as a protagonist and not some bit piece that madrid treated him like. These moments don't come round every year, maybe once in a life time for some relish the moment. Sometimes players are too sentimental for no reason
