I suspect the buyback clause is partly a "political" move by RM, seeing as the Real Madrid fans have been pushing to see more of Morata in the first team for a couple of seasons now. I read an article on ESPN which stated how enamoured the RM fans are with this kid, and that they have high hopes that he may be the new Raul. I'm not ruling out that Real has a genuine long term plan will this kid and that they'll excercise the buyback option, but I think at least in part the clause was inserted into the deal to appease their fans.

Just a theory, of course. Wishful thinking :D

The part of the interview that made me think Alvaro would want to go back is when they asked him about the clause. And he said something along the lines of I want to get the most of my experience here and help the team. But its still early.

ah fuck it. if he becomes great i will obviously be annoyed when we have to sell him back for 30m...
but until then we will have a class striker, we wouldn´t have gotten otherwise, for at least 2 years + 10m profit.

Official Fee :Juventus Football Club can today announce that Alvaro Morata has signed a five-year contract with the club after a fee of € 20 million, to be paid over three years, was agreed with Real Madrid.

The deal includes the option for Real Madrid to reacquire the player’s registration rights at the end of the 2015/16 or 2016/17 campaigns, at predetermined values, up to a maximum of €30 million.
Pathetic. This Marotta guy is no better than Secco. Conte turned out to be great and that fooled some people. Marotta was always pathetic.

If this guys bangs them in and an EPL club come knocking and offer 40m, in theory could Madrid exorcise their clause, pick him up for 30 and sell him to the EPL club and make an even bigger profit?

if they buy him back he is their player. they can do whatever they like then, but he obviously would have to agree to go to the EPL.
