Strange...for when I see Lichsteiner on the RWb position, although he is a monster, defensively magnificent, offensively he offers far less than Asamoah does on the left, and whilst Asamoah's natural defensive zeal is far less than that of the Lichsteiner, overal he offers more as a wingback, for his forages forward are more intelligent and precise.
It makes sense for us to purchase players who excel as wingbacks, which would mean either Isla returning to form and giving us an offensive option to challenge/revolve with Lichsteiner, or selling the cripple, leeping Lich and buying a specialist, fit and healthy RWB. Still...no chance of us selling Isla, at least not until the european summer of 2014. As for the Left, was Peluso a stop-gap measure??? He is nowhere near as useful as a LWb as Asamoah. Maybe he could be ,but will need much longer, and is he not more naturally at his best as a LCB???? Once we finally sell that useless goon De Ceglie, perhaps we can invest in a proper LWB, who can challenge/revolve with Peluso and Asamoah can be challenger/revolve with Vidal and Marchisio as Pogba will also be. We should grab Verratti for the middle for we will need a vice pirlo next season and none of our own youngsters our near to ready for such a role.
