Inflated market price when buying from a smaller club and there is a bidding war. What we end up paying for him is probably what he was actually worth when Udine were approached by us and Barca the first time.

Definitely.

Sometimes we get mad about Marotta and co. and their stinginess.... but we also need to remember that Juventus as a business needs to be very careful to prevent silly overexpendings like the sanchez to barca example.

Sadly, in the not so distant past, we have wasted money in the form of not so usefull players... instead of wasting the same amount of money in one not so good mega deal.

I really do wonder why he isn't even represented in the stats of La Liga this year? it really amaze me how someone like Carlos Vela can score 12 goals and become more interesting to top clubs then the comet of last year, Alexis Sanchez. Seriously - Alexis Sanchez isn't even in the top 15 of goal scorers in La liga and he even plays for the most attacking team of the league!

Messi has scored 50% of their goals (42), Villa is next with 8 goals...

Stats mean nothing.

:dusan:
Stats are facts, but it depends what argument you are trying to make as to how important they are.

For instance, those stats show Barcelona are heavily Messi-dependent in scoring goals. They don't show why the next guy doesn't even have 10 goals. You'd have to analyse them in games and the role each player has.

Some people like to claim that stats don't really matter.
