It recquires a lot of patience as the long hair is coming from the front and usually the back part of the head has faster hair growth. A friend of mine has done it and he has been like that for quite a few years and he doesn't want to cut it because he knows how much he suffered to reach that stage.
Took me like a year and a half to grow it out...you end up lookin like a tool for about 2-3 months, after growing it for like 6 months, while its at an awkward stage. After that it's fine, lots of styles available and you can wear a hairband while playing football. Like superstar Jorge Martinez!!
