Without even playing a single minute for Juventus, Matri is already the new Amauri.
You've gotta admit though, they both had similar careers before joining Juve.

I think it will all go down to whether we reach a CL spot, if we do make it one of Quag or Matri will leave and we will get a prolific forward. Even if Marotta is making mistakes, he is not as stupid as some are making him to be.
What sort of prolific forward?

I just don't see Marotta letting Matri go after half a season and Quag after his first four months at the club. Selling Iaquinta would help fund part of their transfers.

Michael Owen!

How would I know, it is the summer market we are talking about, we don't know how the seasons across the globe will develop, what opportunities will arise and what forwards will be available. It's good you mentioned Iaquinta, I take back what I said, it is two of Matri, Quagliarella and Iaquinta will stay.

Not a whole lot of difference (the hype around Amauri was larger IIRC). That doesn't determine that he'll be a flop and go a year without scoring.

Quagliarella got his share of critics before he even played a game for Juventus.

Of course not, but the comparison of careers can certainly be made. Just because Quag ended up doing well doesn't mean everyone else will.

And just because they had similar careers before joining doesn't mean they will continue like that. It's really silly to predict how a player would do.

I simply disagree. If you've seen a player enough it is your right to comment on his future. It's once again all the negative comments that are targeted while nobody has a problem with saying he'll do well.
