For sure, all our problems won't go away with his signing, but we can hope it can give the team at least some sort of lift. God knows we need it.

I wonder if he'll ever beat with us his 14 goals in 1 season record he set in serie C1. Probably not. He'll be another "never was and never will be good player" and another one who'll make us hope that he'll suddenly become what he never was, just to end up disappointed that he didn't beat all the odds and he remained a mediocre player.

I have no doubts that from next year he'll be nothing but a burden on our wage bill, but I hope that at least the bare move to a big club will get 101% from him RIGHT NOW and with some 7-8 goals till the end of the season he helps us get the 4th spot.

At least he might get a cap or two for Italy. That's very important.

One part in this deal which is over-looked by the majority is that Cagliari has to pay 2.5mil for Ariaudo by this year which technically makes it zero payments for 2010-2011 financial book. Some people having a hard time digesting the fact that we simply could not create additional financial payments for this year, hence the "no money" comments by BOD.

There wasn't alot of opportunities to finilize deals like this one... I was personally hoping Marotta could do the same deal with Atleti and Tiago and Forlan being involved, but they rejected it.

who says that the price we paid is actually marottas estimate of matris value ?

one way or the other people will always find ways to bitch around.

Ich spreche gut Deutsch oder nicht?

What did you expect him to do in one day?

I agree. I think he'd be great as a backup, but if we really want to get back to our previous success, he simply can not be our main striker in the future, which I fear is exactly what will happen.

I don't know if you're Dutch or not but it get's often said/pronounced like that since I'm living here. It's not a very common name I think but my full firstname is even worse. The only silver lining is that Buffon is named the same :D
