let's not put Matri and Quag in the same position, Quag wasn't involved much, but the balls that got to him didn't get wasted, he had some interplay with our other players, earned fouls and stuff. Matri had a much worse game, losing countless duels. as for the pressing, we've never been particularly impressive in that aspect with 352, I wouldn't blame strikers for it.

So it's either him or Quag (or both) to leave in the summer, I'm pretty sure. The only thing that he has an advantage over Quag is, that he is a "prima punta" like Llorente. As a second striker we already have Gio and Vuci so that's bad for Quag. But I think Conte is more willing to get rid off Matri.. He likes those technical skilled players like Sanchez or Jovetic.

Mandzukic did what Matri and Quag failed to do, harass and press our midfielders, and particularly Pirlo. Obviously, our midfielders failed to provide the necessary support to our strikers, but the strikers themselves failed in terms of movement, and coming back to press Bayern's midfield, and in trying to win back the ball a la Mandzukic.
Quag did what Mandzukic did to us against Inter, but he was never going to have the energy to do it in consecutive games.

No, Pirlo was responsible for his own poor performance. Worst on the field by a mile (along with Marchisio). I love both of them, but lets not blame the strikers - - who both sucked in their own right - for Pirlo's unintelligent and lethargic play.
All im saying is you cant say the strikers cant be blamed bc they had no service as their roll in conte system requires much more than being a finisher

The strikers sucked against Bayern, no doubt about it, but to put the majority of the blame on them for Pirlo's absolutely woeful performance is wrong IMO.

Everyone in our team sucked that night, and the only pass marks were for Vidal, Licht and possibly Bonucci (besides the atrocious long balls)
