What a terrible performance. The one thing he is good at is scoring goals, and he's failing at that spectacularly. He isn't good at dribbling, can't really hold up the ball or does he really bring others into play directly. He's pretty decent at finding space and was good at taking one out of a few chances. When that ratio goes down, he becomes pretty much useless. Really feel sorry for him, because he's not this bad. He's having a terrible run of form. Sadly, I don't think he deserves to start ahead of Quag. Also if holding the ball up is what's required (not a tactic I'm fond off right now with average SSs) Bendtner should get the nod ahead of him (that coming from someone who thinks Bendtner is the worst forward a half decent squad can have)
This.

Well, actually all of it.

Only thing Matri is good at is getting into scoring positions, bendtner wouldnt have got those chances coz Matri is better than him at that. Of course cept the goal quag setup for him.
You have no way of factually knowing that. :D

I can't really be arsed discussing this topic with people who don't even pay attention to his positioning and off the ball movements. There are some of us here who notice every time he takes the defenders for a ride and creates space for himself or other Juve players, and there are some who don't. I can live with that. His finishing isn't the best, I'm not saying it is, and it's even worse now that he's lacking in confidence, but this player contributes to our play in a way that none of our other strikers do. Our midfield has an easier task with Matri on the field than when he's not on it. It's not just about "holding up the ball", and no, Bendtner's positioning is not as good as Matri's.

His confidence went a long time ago, now he panics. He needs 2-3 consecutive goals to get the old player back.

The reason we look better when he plays is because he is the only striker at the club who makes proper CF movements and draws defenders back towards goal.

I do get the feeling with him that the shirt might be too much, but he'll still be useful.

Not so long ago, Bonucci was considered cack and shit and fuck and cock and useless and everyone was laughing cause someone called him "regista of defence". Look how that turned out at the end...... It is amazing what a little patience and hard work can do to a player. Play him against Pescara....see what happens... Its not like he can be responsible for anything that will happen in that game. You keep saying that he was shit and we won 4-0 with our midfielders scoring (instead of him). Lets do the same against Pescara

Matri is different from all our strikers, he isnt a vucinic, he isnt a quags. He plays the way he plays and you cant change that. But matri is by far the striker with the best movement, and his finishing is based on his confidence. Im noting saying he has world class finishing but ihe does have decent finishing. He did get an assist and if u say in this game, even if giovinco had a good game, he barely passed it to matri, i want to see matri-quags, they linked up well

Seriously, if Matri decided to take a dump on the pitch, you would praise him for being able to wipe his own ass.
Im praising the comment and how was pogba today? oohh sooo good

Tell me, what is Matri's main job?
