He gets into perfect scoring positions and all but ive always said this Matri's ball control is horrible, probably the worst among the Juve forwards.

Was good today if u ignore his embarassing misses.
His job is to score goals, not doe "everything" else right.

Stop making excuses for him people.

This. I'm glad he got the full 90. Just needs to get a couple of goals to get his confidence back.

We look a better team with a strong forward who can win headers and also look to get in behind.

His misses aside, he had a good game with lots of good flick ons. Give him a run and he will score soon enough.

Im far from being a fan of Matri, never been one. Considering the long lay off and the shattered confidence he still got into scoring positions none of our forwards would have. Having said that i did was he has to worst ball control and that's the most important for a striker. Definitely last in the pecking order of our forwards but i think he should be given some more game time as a sub when we kill the game.

Bendtner would not have had the chances Matri had.
Exactly.

Exactly.
I can accept the first part, but do not agree with the second.

What a terrible performance. The one thing he is good at is scoring goals, and he's failing at that spectacularly. He isn't good at dribbling, can't really hold up the ball or does he really bring others into play directly. He's pretty decent at finding space and was good at taking one out of a few chances. When that ratio goes down, he becomes pretty much useless. Really feel sorry for him, because he's not this bad. He's having a terrible run of form. Sadly, I don't think he deserves to start ahead of Quag. Also if holding the ball up is what's required (not a tactic I'm fond off right now with average SSs) Bendtner should get the nod ahead of him (that coming from someone who thinks Bendtner is the worst forward a half decent squad can have)

He's not to blame at all IMO. It could be Higuain or Benzema in his place and if they were playing as little qs he was, they'd struggle in this set up too. What happened in the game is not a reflection of his ability, but has more to do with his self belief.
