Well he doesn't play every single match. there's another more experienced scandinavian guy (don't remember his name) who's the starter and Fred is his sub.
But he's been waaaay more than decent, every time I've seen him play (4-5 times). Giving him away for an old used up turd like Diamental is just mental. Taider is the one we should give to them if absolutely necessary.
Frederik Sørensen has started in 19 games, and 5 as a sub. I don't think that's a sub player considering Bologna only plays in two tournaments.

peluso's first game was in what position and who did he come to replace?
Not sure if you can count that performance as CB. Maybe as LF for the other team.

We need another good/decent backup. i.e someone like Caceres, maybe Astori.

You won't be laughing if that horrific scenario transpires, and Conte decides to leave, citing lack of ambition and failure to have his demands met. I'm quite sure Conte is intelligent enough to realize that with Llorente, Diamanti, and some random Italian we aren't likely to be making any progress in Europe, and that the gap between us and others in Serie A will be bridged further should we have such a disgusting mercato.
You got me all wrong there: I most definitely would be laughing at the reactions.

Then again, I'm not someone who believes we need to sign many players, expensive players, big names, etc to consider a mercato a success. I'm just weird like that.

Is the random Italian the permanent signing of Peluso or will it be another in addition to him?
Let's say another guy in addition to Peluso. I already consider Peluso a 100% Juve player anyway. Would be very surprising to see him leave.

He's played 14 games as starter and 5 as a sub. Cherubin (29 games) and Antonsson (34 games) are their starter CBs. I think their coach switches between 3 and 4 man defence alot and whenever it's 3 CBs, he's started along side those other two, otherwise he's Antonsson's sub.
Anyways he's definitely worth holding on to.

What kind of profit do you expect to make on an unknown Danish defender bought for 20,000 euros? Surely, scouting for talent has some role to play.

You could say that about Pogba too. It's just that one player found more time, space and patience than the other. You cannot expect Sorensen to develop into a world beater playing with the mentality of a team like Bologna. Play him with Barzagli and Chiellini week in and week out and you'll see he is worth more than what we value him at currently. I'd rather give Motta up for this deal than Sorensen.
Initally I thought he was going to be used as a bargain chip for other players, but now I believe an English team will pay €8-9 mill for him.

Pogba is world class, Sørensen is not. Marrone has been playing with Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini etc, what good has it done him?

I am well aware of our limitations, but to believe you can actually win in Europe without big names is laughable. Sure, it has happened, but to consistently challenge the big guns, you need both quality and depth across all areas of the pitch. Whereas we might be stocked on the latter, we severely lack the former in attack.

Call me greedy, but I am not satisfied winning a weak Serie A (rapidly declining league) while failing to mount a serious challenge in Europe. I know we can't spend insane amounts, but we can put ourselves in a better position by looking at quality purchases, which Diamanti isn't as far as I am concerned. Should Diamanti arrive at the end of the mercato, I might be a bit peeved, but if we had addressed other more pressing issues by then, I won't complain as much :D

They are different cheeks of the same arse. But at least Turk doesn't subject us all to pages upon pages of repetitive drivel, his posts are actually pretty fucking hilarious for the most part.

Fair enough: I am laughable, you are greedy.

Of course I'd like to win in Europe (I'd like to win wherever we participate). Sadly, I'm also realistic in what I expect from the club. I'm also aware of where we're coming from. And I also know that "spending" is NOT a guarantee for success. Which, if you look at Juve over the years, is pretty obvious.

And instead of complaining 24/7, I'm glad that we're on the way up. I'm glad that we don't have to sell our best players to survive (declining league goes both ways, you know - even if I think the decline has been halted).
Hell, I remember the days where we did sell many of our better players (going from Ravanelli to Vialli to Vieri to ...) & we still made it work.

Bottom line is this: if you have some extra money, go ahead & invest it to try to improve the team. And if you haven't, just don't. Now, depending on how you look at our books, there's either some limited room to work with or there's none at all.
Regardless, fact is that we're still far from being in a position to take real risks. And signing Diamanti is simply not a risk (limited risk, limited potential rewards).
Improving this team might seem easy for all the specialists & analysts on here, but I personally don't think it.

As a closing argument: I won't pretend that I know all there is to know about Diamanti, but signing is not something I would like (age having a lot to do with it), but I sure as hell won't throw a hissy fit if he arrives. I won't even throw one if he was the only player, together with Llorente, to arrive.

And as another closing argument: I can't shake the feeling that Jovetic will be a Juve player come September 1st :D
