Fletcher is a completely different player than Marchisio. He might not be your typical destroyer, but he's a great tackler of the ball.
A better example could have been Scholes - Carrick circa 2007. But even then, Carrick is the sort of player that sits deep in front of the back four. Kind of like a deep lying playmaker, neither Aquilani nor Marchisio like to sit that deep.
