I find the chances of technical issue a far more concerning than the chance of being blown up by terrorists.

It amazed me how little coverage seemed to be given to the engine problems in some planes a few weeks ago.

I guess so long as the economy is struggling and companies' margins are tight,
there is the danger that corners will be cut when it comes to the maintainance and saftey of planes.
Engine problems in airlines from where?

American airlines haven't had fatal technical issues on planes I think even before 9.11

But that's the thing. All this nonsense will hurt business even more, meaning the airlines will be forced to cut more corners on safety precautions.

But you can't expect Americans to put two and two together. They think the government will save them.

The current state of America and the every increasing lack of reason would be a major concern to me if I lived there.

The John Stewart thing the other week, while far from perfect, was a good gesture.

Shame a huge chunk of the population no doubt believed whatever negative spin Glenn Beck & Co. no doubt put on it.
It was some decent bread and circus stuff and probably well intended. It distracted some of the populous from non-important b/s by giving them well-intentioned non-important b/s.
