As is usual, you ignore the point...

Football (at the international level at least) is not meant to be friendly. The hopes of a whole nation are on you, so that lame game by the Naija team on Monday was ugly. Did you even watch it?
Headbutting someone isn't passion. That's bullshit.

As for the game, Nigeria did lack passion (although they mostly just lack quality) and IMO so did Cote d'Ivoire. It was almost boring and Kalou's goal, though beautiful of course, could have easily been prevented.

unlucky mate i watched that game and tbh i am not sure how much it is a lack of quality on nigeria's side, i honestly think the buck stops at bertie vogts, the man has teh tactcal awareness of an omeaba. sure scotland were lacking in quality when he hwas in charge but walter smith and alex mcleish got a lot more out of those palyers than bertie evr did. all it needed was a game-plan, something we never looked like we had under bertie.
seriously nwanze get him out the door and get a coach who knows how to get the most out of players and you will see a massive difference, you would expect bertie to have some great insight into teh game but he simply does not have a plan...never mind plan b when it all goes wrong

To be fair to you anyways, on this issue I am hardly rational, so let's kiss and make up.

A game that was expected to be one of the best and most competetive in the tournament didn't live up to standards, Nigeria and CIV are very good and strong, but surrently I rate CIV the best African team along with Morocco at the moment

True Tunisia were lucky..but Senegal didnt take their chances and the Tunisians capitalized.. but to be honest i dont think the Tunisians are getting anywhere this time..Not enough quality this time around.. the team that won the ANC 4 years ago and did well 2 years ago..its not the same anymore Benachour, Clayton , Boumnijel, Trabelsi, Boazzizi and my personal favourite Ziad Al Jaziri..all not playing anymore..and this looks like a transitional period for Tunis...Isaam Jemaa and Majdy Troui didnt look bad though

I liked Tunisia first goal, they always have skills but it looks like its transition time for them.

Berti Vogts made a career out of one substitution he made in final of 96. Ppl quickly forget that had a great team on his hands but still failed several times (especially 94 and 98).

:agree: he made an absolute mess of teh scotland job, sure we are not a nation with extremely talented players but we do have a lot of good players coming through. however he sucked all the confidence and life out of them, a good manager in walter smith took those same players and beat france, alex mcliesh took up the riegns and did the same. in the end we lost out but the feelgood factor is back and we are no longer embarrased when they go to play.

vogts will do teh same with nigeria, they do ahve some excellent forward players but he has no clue how to utilise them

Today is def a shocking day. guenia vs morocco ( shock 1) while ghana hardly and unconvincingly beats nambia ( shock 2).

i've watched the morocco game, since the first half u could see how aloudi's abscence is very evident. morocco looked very shaky at theback the complete opposite of there game against nambia but in particular both the left back and right back where completely out played. chamka is a classy player but it was'nt working his way tonight cos after the 68th min when guenia was playing with 1 man down they were defending in numbers and closed every inch for the moroccans tonights. to be fair too i think guenia was under estimated by the morocons after all it was guenia who beat tunisia in 2006 (3-0) and it was the same guenia that almost embarrased ghana on the opening day.

to to be fair the refree had some rubbish mistakes like the 1st goal it should'nt have been a free kick for guenia. the second rubbish decision was guenia's penalty which was not meant to be as the moroccan defender got fouled first.

does'nt look very good for the moroccans after this one, although i think they can pull a shocker against ghana but they need to avoid thiese mistakes specially at the back. they also need to concentrte on the game other than minding other players bec this is just sth in north african teams such as tunisia, egypt, morroco and algeria. the players get sooooooooooo pissed off and u could see the number of fights that broke out tonight its just not needed.

as for shock numbe 2. i personally thought nambia was going to be trashed tonight for several reason apart from them being a weak team.

1- ghana is by far the strongest in every single departement yet tonight they looked an average side.

2- this tournement is being played in ghana, and yes it plays a role in a teams preformance.

this game was sooooooooooooo boring i almost slept during the second half, asmoah is a good player but a terrible finisher the amount of chances they miss tonight is ridiculous.

i also believe ghana is going to explode come next stage cos i dont see them lasting if they played like this.

morocco vs ghana should be the decieve game for guenia and morroco but its def easier for guenia putting in mind they are much stronger than nambia.
guess we will have to wait and see how this unlocks.

Quite an interesting match. A lot of talent in the Ivory Coast team & once Benin started getting tired the holes started appearing.
