Thank god Mido got banned....what an embarrasment ....i was watching the match and couldnt believe what i was seeing. All he was missing was Pampers Plus...what a spoiled brat!! The Egyptain team is much better without him.....even with the captin hosam trying to stop him he still acted so unprofessionally....its not going to be a great year for him if he keeps up his childish behavior....

UNforza Mido...
Yes what he did was completly wrong & no one questione that but the man is still young & he was nervous coz the Egyptian fans expected a lot from him & he simply didnt do anything.Anyway Mido is a great player & he will be one of th best strikers in the world very soon & he is doing great job with Tottenham & he is leading them to enter the Cl next season & Tottenham's fans adore him & they shout his name every game so...........FORZA MIDO

I would choose Hossam Hassan before Mido any day. Every game that he has played he totally outdid Mido. This is from a neutral point of view. While Hossam does not have the pace the man is a genius when it comes to positioning & finishing. Mido meanwhile seems like he is more interested in being noticed by being melodramatic & shouting instructions to everyone around. He is still young & should just concentrate on his footie.
That said I was among the one's who believed lacked confidence at the beginning of the tournerment. I could help but admit that they have played entertaining & attractive football plus scoring some memorable goals. Barakat really impressed me. Let's hope for an enterntaing finale.
Hossam is a great player with great history & also a great Captain & leader but Mido is the future of Egypt & time will show that he will shine in Europe like his days with Ajax & more.Anyway the finale is ours Insha2allah & as I always say OUR LAND OUR CUP & I lift a poster saying these words in every game.

Yeah he shoud & he got a cruel punishment for not respecting Shahata but it must end here & no one can questione Mido as a great player.Every player make some mistakes in his career like Mutu taking Heroine,Totti spitting on Poulse(& a lot) etc... but they get back on track & forget what they did in order to continue their life.Anyway Forza Egypt & the final is ours.

My two cents: I'm glad Mido got banned...Zaki has outperformed him in every single match.

As for who should start on Friday...Met3eb and Zaki should definitely start...Hossam should take no part in that game. He's completely static and he'll be overpowered by the Ivorians...he's very slow as well. Abdel-7aleem should be the sub.

What Mido did was wrong but he should have been severly punished after the Final in order to keep the player focusing only on the game.In the final I think Amr Zaki will start beside Hossam!I don't agree but Met3eb recent form don't allow him to start at all.Anyway I don't care who starts I only want to win it & I m so afraid of Abdel Zaher El Sakka!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mido Shows No Signs Of Regret
London - February 9, 2006

Disgraced Egyptian striker Ahmed Mido Hossam has branded national team coach, team and football association "amateurs".

Mido will miss Egypt's African Nations Cup final against Ivory Coast tomorrow having been banned for six months by his country's FA because of a touchline row with coach Hassan Shehata.

But the 22-year-old does not regret starting the rumpus, sparked when he was substituted 11 minutes from the end of Tuesday's semi-final win over Senegal.

"In Egypt they are amateurs. The manager is an amateur, the team are amateurs, the :disagree:

association are amateurs," Mido told the Daily Express in London.

"They think they know everything. People can call me an arrogant Premiership player. The fact is that I am a Premiership player and they are amateurs.

WHAT AN ARROGANT BASTARD!!

"I have not spoken to Shehata since the incident. I don't care about him. He is a local guy. Before he was in charge of the national team, he managed a second division side. (UNCALLED FOR MIDO)

"I want to play for Egypt again, of course. But I don't regret what I did.

"I was disappointed by the decision to ban me. I don't know why they took it. If they win tomorrow now they can say they took a good disciplinary decision. They will be heroes.

"But if they lose it will be because of Mido, and the trouble he caused. That's how things go."

Egypt play Cote D'Ivoire in the final of the MTN Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.
