We can’t afford to lose another key midfield piece. Haven’t we learned from the dismantling of MVPP?

@Patrizi
This is what i don't understand about some "experts" here. I swear to God that if some people here got their hands on actual decisions we would dismantle piece by piece. A lot of couch coaches playacting like they know something of value.

Our midfield consists of Arthur, Locatelli, McKennie and Zakaria... And they want to get rid of Rabiot? Idiotic.

That really puzzled me as well. Ref'd never call that a handball and pen if Rabiot was inside our penalty area, exactly the same rules apply here.
Those are the rules. An accidental handball in your own box, when the position of the hand/arm does not make the body unnaturally bigger, is NOT a penalty offence. But if the goalscorer scores with his hand/arm, even if accidental, the goal is disallowed.

It's on page 98 of FIFA laws of the game 2021/22
https://downloads.theifab.com/downloads/laws-of-the-game-2021-22?l=en

The main question yesterday was if the ball hit Rabiot's elbow or shoulder. VAR said it's the elbow and in that case it was correctly disallowed.

So you can make an accidental assist with your hand/arm but not an accidental goal.

Doesn't really make much sense because if the arm is removed it hits his side and pretty much does the same thing, albeit with no clarity on where the ball will go (probably in the same or similar direction).

Good point, and the answer is, surprisingly and quite shockingly: YES.

If it's an accidental handball while the position of your arm/hand doesn't make your body unnaturally bigger, it is not an offense in all cases but one. The one case being, if you score directly from that handball.

I'm almost certain it was his upper arm.
I thought that upper arm muscle is part of the shoulder. Nevermind, IIRC when they introduced these new handball laws, they claimed that exact part of the arm isn't considered a handball. No?

I would've accepted the verdict if the referee at least went on to check the monitor. It wasn't clear and obvious. You cannot choke off a goal for a marginal call without checking the monitor first.

Yeah it's the sleeve which is the cut off I believe.

For me it hit him right where the line is or just higher, so it's indeed weird that it wasn't even looked at. Well, is it weird? It's not surprising tbh.

Seems like when it's Juventus, it's the VAR room that decides.

This VAR has brought a lot of good things into football. But what creates inconsistencies is when at one moment the ref gets to view replay, and in another moment the VAR room decides. I think all the blatant errors this season have come from that room. Either the ref watches everything dubious on the screen. Or nothing. Because this is just ridiculous as it is. Why did Irrati go check the monitor for the penalty Inter had, and not Zakaria? These guys in the box can't be trusted.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to sell this soft faggot who keeps leisurely strolling across the pitch. No team is retarded enough to offer him the wages he is currently on. Fortunately, his contract is up in the summer of 2023, and I am almost certain Chimichanga and Arrivederci will not be offering him anywhere near what he is currently earning, so he can freely fuck off elsewhere.

Perhaps, we can convince Newcastle to take him for 20 million (by telling Fagiot that we have no intention of renewing his contract in the summer). Maybe even PSG might want him back :numnum: :b81:

Patrizi should also consider minting Fagiot NFTs. I'm sure someone out there would be willing to pay 20 pesos for them.

Understand it’s the rule as dumb as it is.

I’ve yet to see a clear image that shows it clearly came off the elbow or arm yet. At slow speed from what I can see it’s still inconclusive, in which case it ‘should’ go with the on field call.
I’d like to believe there is one.

Obviously var referee Paolo valeri must have been 100 percent sure that it hit arm of Rabiot .
