he has everything needed to be a monster midfielder. i think he needs a coach like conte or klopp or simeone.
You're probably right that he needs a strong male figure in his life. Just read that his dad has locked-in syndrome since he was young. Makes sense now.

Tuchel's comments from 2019. Very similar to what Allegri has said.

"Adrien is a very curious player," Tuchel told L'Equipe in September. "He has an attacking mindset and likes to take risks. I like him a lot, but I'm not sure that he has the profile of a No. 6. It's not about his talent—he could do it, without any doubt—but it's not enough to have the physical or technical capacities of a No. 6; you also have to think like a No. 6."

Interesting...

I don't think it's because there's less ground to cover. This guy covers the pitch in couple of steps. I think it's more about the fact that he doesn't feel comfortable playing in a congested midfield of three with short spaces. He needs the space that a two-man midfield gives him
So now we should set up the formation for Rabiot? Lol you sound like his mom. The guy’s lucky to even be on the star studded French team and she is bitching about poor play from others.

And yes he does cover a lot of ground in few steps, except the 90% of the time he is jogging. Take whatever financial hit and sell.

Allegri looked at Rabiot like a proud dad when he got subbed off. You could see the emotion in his face with the way he hugged him.

I don't see him going anywhere next season.
I saw that too and cringed. I have faith in Max but he’s sees this guy day-in-day out. He needs to motivate himself every match.

If he put Inter like percormance til the end of the season, that is the best time to sell him

He will attract more interests and we have Rovella + Fagioli waiting as a sub. Use those money for big midfield signing

We can use new midfielder signing ,Locatelli, Zakaria and McKennie as backup midfield

We still can sell Arthur to fund the Big midfield signing too
I hope Fabio Paratici will approach again or some oil money from Newcastle

I don't know how his mom sounds. Only what happens on the pitch interests me. And what I've seen is that it would be a disaster to let him go when the rest of our midfield isn't even average. I've been as critical of Rabiot as everyone else. But I recognize talent when I see it. And I trust Allegri to get the best out of him next season.

As bad as he's been for a large part of the season, he's still our best midfielder. Without a shadow of a doubt.

As bad as he's been, he has outperformed Locatelli. Would you sell Locatelli as well?

We have different standards for talent I assume.

Showing up 3 times per season and in the meantime being a very ‘so-so’ player, who in general isn’t a defensive beast and basically never offers something in attack doesn’t qualify for being a very talented player. No good shot or pass either, not particularly fast. Got easily outperformed by Locatelli this year. Not that Loca was outstanding but he was better.

Very frustrating player to see. I don’t even agree with the ‘if he really wants he’d be class’ state of mind some here have. He’s 27, should be a well defined midfielder who offers something.

I agree that it has been frustrating. So has everybody else been in this team. But if you can't see that he's better than every other midfielder in our team, you might want to reevaluate your "standard of talent".

One of the biggest disappointment this season has been Locatelli. Now that's someone who has offered nothing but sub-par performances. The day I see Locatelli play as great as Rabiot did against Inter, Call me. Because i don't think he's capable of it.

I am still sitting here days after the Inter game and wonder what the fuck happened to Rabiot on that game. He is a mystery. Why he is utter shit for 90% of the games, looking like he does not care & and suddently he goes absolute mental, playing like a world class, showing he care... I dont get it man..

Although he has struggled, i wouldn't say he doesn't care. He has been throwing himself in front of shots this whole season. It has just gone unnoticed because what follows hasn't been great.

Let's embrace that little quality we have in our midfield. This guy is a monster on his day. We just need to help him have more of those. Because on his day, there aren't many better than him in what he does. We need that.

Some people here might think they understand more than Allegri and Deschamps. I promise you. They don't.

Now I don't know if things will work out or not. But the worst thing we can do is ship our best midfielder out because he has been struggling. Especially since our other midfielders aren't really that good.

that's a bold statement but i'm sure you thought it through before typing it and sending your post. so please elaborate.
I don't think it's bold. Now I agree with everybody else that Rabiot hasn't been great. He has struggled a lot. Especially when Arthur plays. He really struggles to play in the pocket as he has been asked to do for large part of the season. Or as a mezzala. For fucks sake, he's been playing on the left wing for large part of the season. He's not that type of player. There's no coincidence that his performance against Inter happened without Arthur being there. The way I see it is his gravity on the pitch is much greater than Locatelli's. Who I think has struggled more than Rabiot. I was expecting a lot more from Locatelli than what he has offered.

But it's difficult. This is my perspective. Locatelli has done things mostly right. But it hasn't been great.
Rabiot has been doing a lot of things wrong. But some things great.

Having said that. I'm not gonna be a hypocrite and burn Locatelli. This is his first year and I'll reserve judgement until later. I'm a supporter.

Allegri has job to do creating a team around both Locatelli and Rabiot. And I have a feeling it's gonna work in the end.

Again. One thing is for sure. It would be a huge mistake to sell Rabiot.

Loca at 3.5 M a year > Fagiot at 7M
Also playing a couple of decent matches doesn't suddenly change shit for him..guy has zero grinta pointless running..a waste..this mofo should be plowing grounds with his horse size..that's why he doesn't get injured he probably trains like a pussy too

Are you implying that Locatelli is capable of a performance like Adrien had against Inter? I would love to see that happen, seriously.

So far Locatelli has shown that he deserves those 3.5m.
So far Adrien has shown he's capable of performing worth 7m.

Nothing about it was decent. It was spectacular to watch.

I'm talking about value we get vs quality of the player. I'm not comparing Loca and Rabiot head to head.
Rabiot is a naturally physically gifted player who can show some flashes using his athleticism.
However he is average technically, nothing special about his shot, no accuracy range more than 3m going forward only back and side, average as a DM, average going forward..I don't care about his potential he has been here long enough to blossom if that would be the case..add to that his wages and I would %100 sell I don't care if sturaro has to replace him.. puts in his best toward end of seasons he can fuck off.
