I think I get it. The -ic is kind of like 'bin' in Arabic, i.e. 'son of'...right?
Or -son in Sweden :agree:
Although -ic doesn't literally mean "son of", that's indeed what its supposed to mean in the surnames.
I asked what it meant because you can't be named Allah just by itself.
Why? :frown:

It's same here actually. Bog is our word for God, but nobody's named Bog. We have Bogdan which means Bog (God)- Dan (Given... or Day, it has both meanings).

I'm not sure if there's a rule about it but I've certainly never met or heard of anyone named Allah. Btw have I ever told you that there are Pakistani's that trace their heritage to Alexander the Great? :D

Have I told you that they're talking shit? :D

I know everything about them. Last year or so one of their princes, with his wife, were in Macedonia and from what i've been told, they've been treated like long lost brothers by the Macedonians.

The ancient Macedonian language (Alexander's) was not a written language, so apart from few words, we know nothing about that language. Those Pakistanis you talk about also speak a strange language so they're claiming that it's Alexander's language and they're descendants of Alexander's soldiers.
The latter might be true actually. On his way to India Alexander was picking soldiers on his way, so he probably did pick some soldiers from some places near India or Pakistan. He then colonized these soldiers in some strategical places.
So these Pakistani might be descendants of Alexander's soldiers, but they sure ain't descendants of Alexander and the ancient Macedonians. They look Pakistani/Indian and they lived isolated for all these centuries. It's obvious that their ancestors were also from the Indian peninsula.

No this is the first time you're revealing this 'shit' :D

I haven't done any research on this but this is what I've heard. You're prob right on that they're probably the descendants of his soldiers and not direct descendants of Alexander. They're fair skinned, blond, and blue eyed. It'd be interesting to do some reading on this.

edit: Who was it that visited?

The funniest one is Mashallah, I guess Iranians use
You mean there are people named Mashallah? :lol2:

I think we should. There should be a thread for every person on earth that converts religion, sex or underwear textile. These are very important issues.

Did you know Bogdan has the same meaning as Baghdad? The similarity between the words is of course not a coincidence either.

Oh and regarding the topic, nutjob converts to Islam shocker. :D
