Well I'm not religious anymore but I was born in a Shi'a family so I was practicing Shi'a instructions for most of my life.

For us here these only have religious meaning, not ethnic. So even if my parents are Catholic, i'm not a Catholic since i'm not religious.

Its the same with muslims. You can't be an Ethnic Shiite for example.

Lebanese people mostly identify themselves as being a part of one of those groups. So even if one was not practicing his respective religion, he would still consider himself Sunni, Shiite or Christian.
