just sign the fucker for one year ffs

Can we cheat the tax law by signing a two year contract and then both parties terminating the contract by mutual consent a year from now?
We can just say it's a 2 year contract with a clause of discretionary termination after year 1 if objectives are not met:

-30 gols
-30 assists

:p

Really hope that we manage to find an full agreement soon without needing to keep dragging this negotiations on for several more weeks.

As soon as he leaves after less than 2 years we will have to pay the full taxes.
that's the problem.
He want 1 year to play world cup and after the season ends going back to Argentina.
While Juventus need at least 2years for fiscal reasons and also as security.
Cause then we'd a have player focused till the World cup and then the months after it already in holiday till the seasons ends...
So either he commit to 2years giving his best or better not go to have him half a season 100% and gone mentally after the world cup.

I have a simple solution. Blond Bozo and Unibrow can sacrifice their salaries for 6-8 months to cover the costs offset by his inability to commit for two seasons. It's also a way for both of them to atone for the fuckery of the past 36 months.

Can we not sign him for 2 and then sort a trade with whichever Argentine team he wants to play for, where we get some of their young stars? Similar to the Tevez deal to Boca.

No wonder psg didn't extend his contract his only focus is the world Cup in qatar in November-December after that like all Argentina players wants to go back to Argentina.

I can't believe that a professional player openly saying he wants just 1 year and not to stay for 2 and steal money when he's not motivated is considered a negative.
In his defense, rather a player who is honest than someone who chooses the easy route and gives only 60% in his second year.

Personally I wouldn’t doubt to sign him for a year. Time changes and who knows what he thinks around may ‘23. Maybe he wants another year because he settled in Turin.

But most importantly we miss someone with his experience and class in our attack, therefore I wouldn’t doubt to sign him, even for a year without the fiscal benefits

Absolutely.

Just the fact he is open about his plans and immediately tells you he is motivated to stay for one year shows his professionalism. Another player would bite your hand off if you offered him an additional year and just mail it in and take the money.

Di Maria is the ultimate professional, I am convinced he will be great regardless of the WC or contract length

Dodge this bullet.

The guy has his head on not getting injured for the world cup and returning to argentina. We are not a charity, not to mention that a team of the caliber of Juventus should not be bending over to this kind of deals

He is just a gap fill, and a very good one at that. If we get kostic, and chiesa returns and finds his best sometime next season then having di Maria for that short period of time makes sense.

The biggest issue we have is the fact that we need to find solutions for so many areas in this team. If we can find a short term win/solution like di Maria who is versatile and can fill a gap for a season then I say we take it. Especially if it means we can fix the defense, improve the midfield and find back up for vlahovic.

I have no problems with him coming for a year or two as some patch. If he does wait for Barca - We should move on. If its false I think he would be a good short term solution (we cant fix everything in one mercato, there would be patches..)

() JUST IN: Di Maria to Barcelona is possible. The player prefers a move to Spain and the sporting area is yet to rule out his signing as his experience, versatility and performances have impressed the club. Juventus haven’t given up. @relevo #Transfers
