If they are overthinking it's likely the 2nd year "option" is more than likely to convert - probably almost a formality.

He could fall off real quick, or could be a more than good enough player for Serie A. I'm a bit torn on this. I don't know. Not sure he has the speed to play as a winger anymore. But Juve desperately needs a creative player like him, with flair, that are harder and harder to come by.

We shouldn't sign him imo. A 34 year old winger, those words alone should mean no, particularly when he would be one of the highest players in the squad. Or even the highest overall? I read here that the growth decree doesn't apply to him.

What is the point of selling Kulu and letting Dybala go to make 34yo Di Maria our highest paid player?

There are younger wingers out there who could the job for much less money because we are talking about retirement Di Maria, not the player who shone for Madrid in their 10th CL.

Name those younger wingers that wouldn't command a fee of 50mln+.

I think that we’ll sign another winger.

Having a better player that fits the system, maybe?

And tell me who's cheaper (at 7mil and no transfer sum) and better than Di Maria out there?

Di Maria is one of the best players ever at his position and still one of the best in the world today and still gets compared to Dybala and Kulu ffs because they're younger. :ratcafe:

Doesn't matter they've never been in the same stratosphere as the guy, but hey they're younger.

BTW Agresti is chaning his narration each day. First it was 6 signings, then 7, then 6 or 7. Right now its 6 or 7 but its including the players back from loan, so he really just knows shit.

We used to have frontline of Vialli - Ravanelli - Del Piero.

Or Nedved - Del Piero - Ibrahimovic - Camoranesi.

Now I see names like Soule, Olmo and shit.

If I had a vagina I would probably start crying after seeing those names.

Why would you compare obvious bench options of today with starters out of a golden era?

I see your point but i’d say you looking too far back…

No longer than 2-3years ago we started the 19/20 season with a frontline of CR7 - Dybala - Higuain - Mandzukic - Douglas Costa - Bernardeschi(when there was still a bit of hope for him coming fresh after his one hit wonder season heroics against Atletico Madrid) and we also had the atacking football mastermind in Sarri to lead them out there.

We all know how that worked out in the end…

I think it’s useless making this type of comparisons across different generations when there are totally different dynamics in the market this days.

Name one player whos better at crossing the ball and long passes. Any age.
Not a very tough challenge given that as great as Di Maria was, he has never been the best at either of those things. De Bruyne for example is better at both.

Will leave it to the scouts to find the deals, we should have those instead of relying on 34 year olds on huge contracts while apparently trying to focus on youth and reduce the wage bill.

Liverpool signed Luis Diaz. Milan signed Leao. RBL signed Nkunku. Roma, and Liverpool, signed Salah. We signed Cuadrado and Chiesa. Madrid signed Vinicius. Etc.

It's not like wingers don't exist. A player like Di Maria should be a complement if anything. But we let go of a player in his prime in Dybala, of a young talent in Kulu, to add a 34 year old winger to our other 34 year old winger.

Cuadrado - Di Maria has to be the oldest pair of wingers in football.

I really hope that we sign another winger too then if we must have Di Maria, and that it's a young player.
