I'm pissed that the referees in Serie A are instructed to blow their whistle for every little small thing and constantly stop the play. It's soooo boring and annoying. These players are grown men, and they should start acting that way. But they know that the ref will blow as soon as they fall...
A diamond was used early in the season with Camo on the right side.
And our best result were from that formation. You can check this link if you like http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/results?id=111&cc=4716
Results.
Obviously, when our injured players are able to return (the keys being Camo, DC and Giovinco), we should reinstate a 4-1-2-1-2 diamond formation with Camo on the right ( or DC/Giovinco on the left) and Diego as the AM.
Undoubtedly, our most succesful formation the diamond formation with Melo the sole DM. Surprising considering some of you say he flat out cannot play in such position.
Melo is forced to be the ball distributor because players don't know what to do when they have the ball. And Felipe is the only one with balls so you see him alot of times trying to invent something.
When I saw Melo try and do that backheel shit or whatever the fuck it was, I lost it. It summed everything up. Trying to do the fancy crap instead of the simple. It's not rocket science. It's simple passing. This is stuff they teach you when you are five years old.
It is hard to compare the two because they are different players. But I would rather D'Agostino because he is a more versatile midfield with playmaking abilities (especially when Diego is shut down). He would have been great in the 4-3-1-2 along with Marchisio and Sissoko.
He has the ability to be a very good player. He's not a regista like we needed, but he can play a different role. He's had some questionable games, but I think he'll get back to his previous form soon.
