what do you mean with big stage? Because in sweden he is pretty much alone. Even the best players need support. And yet he was the best scorer for sweden in euro 2008.

In champions league he hasnt been as good as he can be, but there is still time.
You answered your own question: he hasn't performed at a high level in the CL.

I don't get the destroying thing? destroying what? Parma defenders? Chievo? Or Siena? Please....

The world destroy and toy will fit him perfectly once he has done something worth mentioning in Europe. Not against Reggina and Bologna seriously.

Well thats the only serious criticism that i agree with you on about Ibrahimovic. He's a different player in the CL, a completely different one.

Azzurri7, you do realize your say counts for very little in this matter? Stop spamming, you made your point 5 years ago when Zlatan put Del Piero on the bench. Let it go already.

I mean look, you can't really compare Zlatan to any player in Serie A over the last few years. He won Inter three Scudetti single handedly. Their squad is good for third place without him. Anyone who says different is a hater and that's where it ends.

For those of you who care, there's an interview with the "zingaro" in today's La Stampa.
It's about his entire career.

Juve related stuff (most of it is already well know I would think):
* He is sad at what happened (Calciopoli) because Juve had an exceptional team.
* When he grew up he was an Inter fan.
* The decision of him leaving Juve after 2 seasons was made before the scandal. (I did not know this)
* When he left us, he didn't care about the rivalry between Juve & :inter:

Capello benched Del Piero not Zlatan. Zlatan was playing awfully and still he was in the starting 11. Look at you, how proud, thinking your fav player (Zlatan) put Alessandro Del Piero to the bench taking it as an achievement, Lol.

I repeat, according to me, to most of Juve fans (except) Ibra lovers, Capello was the one that unfairly benched Del Piero even when his man was booed on the field from Juve fans. Your opinion doesn't count much TBH, because majority don't think like you, majority think he was awful 70% of his time at Juve, majority aren't Zlatan fans. Majority don't celebrate when Zlatan scores for Inter like you.... etc

And stop taking it personal each time I bring Zlatan's argument, if you're really sensitive about it, you can either ignore or I'm sure there must be some Zlatan forum out there.

Oh trust me, Inter would have still won the Scudetto with or without Zlatan. It's not mission impossible to win a Scudetto when your biggest rival and biggest threat are in Serie B and in financial crisis and when Milan starts the league with minus points and when you have only Roma to compete with.

The only deserved Scudetto Inter won was this years Scudetto even if Calciopoli still affecting us, but they deserved it because there was at some point a tight competition. Other than that, Roberto Mancini had anything but a strong rival for him to win the two Scudetto.

He left for money. He wanted a bigger contract and we didn't want to give it to him (he didn't deserve a better contract at all). That's why he decided to leave Juve even before Calciopoli.

Buffon also wanted to leave Juve before Calciopoli but not for money related issues. But when Calciopoli happened Buffon decided to stay with us.

That's why Gigi is a club legend while Zlatan is hated by most of the Juve fans. :)

Ibra explains Juve exit

Monday 6 July, 2009

Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed he did not leave Juventus in 2006 because they were engulfed in the Calciopoli scandal.

The 27-year-old Sweden international was one of several Juventus players who left the club as they were relegated to Serie B.

“I didn't leave the Bianconeri because of Calciopoli. Something didn't happen between the club and I, and I had already decided to go away before the scandal,” Ibrahimovic told Sfide.

“Milan also wanted me, but I soon chose Inter without problems. I have never given a damn about the rivalry with Juventus.

“In Turin I felt like a superstar, but the club that taught me the most was Ajax. They taught me more things than any other club.

“In Italy, England and Spain they look for players who are already ready. They want results quickly. At Ajax it's different.

“They shape you with training and discipline,” Ibrahimovic said.

Last year's Capocannoniere then explained his affiliation with Inter.

“I have supported Inter since I was little. :lol2::lol2:

“One day I watched the Italian championship on TV with some friends and we decided to bet some small change, choosing a team each. I chose Inter, the others Juve and Milan,” Ibrahimovic concluded.

Ibrahimovic will return to Italy this weekend as Inter prepare for their preseason tour of the USA.

Actually, you can call me an Ibra fan, and i am as a matter of fact, but i must admit that Del Piero was unfairly benched under Capello.
Especially in the second season. Trez was scoring like crazy, Del Piero was scoring and assisting whenever he was given a chance to play, while Zlatan did almost nothing. He had a good game or a good move followed by 5 disastrous games where he was too selfish to think about anyone else but himself.
Now i don't know if Zlatan played so bad on purpose (you know, he wanted a bigger contract, we didn't want to give it to him, and he was looking for a way to be sold) and it doesn't even matter why did he play bad. It matters that in his second season with Juve he deserved nothing more but to sit on the bench, with Trez and Del Piero starting the matches.

I do remember about Zlatan wanting a bigger contract, but I was under the impression we were going to give it to him. Had it not been for Calciopoli Capello would probably have stayed and we all know he was crazy about Zlatan, so for me it's surprising to find out that he was a goner either way.

Oh, and I know Gigi wanted to leave ;)
That's not exactly a secret, I would think every Juve fan knows that.

Hell, even DP was thinking about leaving before Calciopoli happened.

Woah, hold the phone!

A fairly accurate translation of an Italian article / interview pops up on an English website?

What's next: Goal.com winning a journalistic award for best informed website on the net?

Del Piero made the first commitment to this team.

P.S, no one is blaming Zlatan for leaving the team, I'm actually happy he left, and it's normal everyone at some point to think of leaving when you're going down to lower division, it's very normal.

I think you mave have misunderstood me (or perhaps I didn't explain it correctly).
I didn't mean DP leaving because of Calciopoli. He thought about leaving before it happened. We all know he didn't see eye to eye with Capello and after the whole thing happened he admitted it himself. Something along the lines of "Had Capello stayed on I would have probably been forced to look at other options" iirc.

When it turned out we were going to Serie B he was indeed (one of) the first to commit to the team, together with Nedved.

Azzurri7, let me surprise you a little. I consider the second half of Zlatan's second season at Juve to be among the worst showcases of football from a professional that I have ever seen. Molinaro did better for us the last two years. Him putting Del Piero on the bench at the time was not only unfair, it was bizarre.

This was surely not the point in time for the Juve management to offer a more lucrative contract to Ibrahimovic, and therefore he had made up his mind about leaving.

Only months later, he was back to top form and went on to win 3 Scudetti single-handedly. Our loss.
