amount of money they spent :howler:. they invest, they earn back. And I don't think you understand business if you think that's moronic because they have had profits for the last 5 years atleast unlike most other clubs.
12/13: 36.9m
11/12: 24.2m
10/11: 31.6m
09/10: 24m
08/09: 21.5m
If you want, do a return on capital or return on assets, that did still be good business.

Invest and earn back :howler:
Is that why they had to commit fraud med the Madrid council? Is that why a particular Spanish bank gave them carte blanche to spend money without any security, in a time, where the banks hesitated to loan out any money in Spain?

Madrid does a good job telling mainstream media how much they earn - I give them that.

Edit: The discussion was about their history. No business would get the benefits Madrid have been getting.
Look at Italy; they do everything to bust people in sports wether it's doping or fraud. In Spain, it's the absolutely opposite.

That's true but Messi plays as a playmaker for Argentina as well and he has been scoring a shitload of goals there as well in the last 2 years.

Like Emmet says, Zidane was too inconsistent. I dislike Messi but let's be objective here. I'm sure @Fred would agree with me.
Not really, Zidane is the best player I've ever seen, Messi and the Brazilian Ronaldo come second to be honest. Messi as an individual is phenomenal, but he cannot dictate a game and completely grab it by the scruff of the neck the way Zidane used to do, Zidane also rose to big occasions a lot more than Messi does. That being said, Messi still has quite a few years ahead of him, before the end of his career, so I'd still give him a chance, but Zidane was just something else really.

The best way to describe Zidane's time at Juve is this:

When Del Piero got injured in '98, the onus was on Zidane to step up and carry the team, he was now the main man, the fulcrum of the side, and the truth is he failed.

Yeah the wheels were coming off the Lippi era, and he got the boot in Feb '99, but that team should have been good enough to finish in the top 3 or 4 in Serie A at the time (despite the league being ridiculously brilliant), no way should we have finished seventh. That will always prove to me that Del Piero was the true star of the mid to late 90s Juventus.

Would we have slipped to 7th that season had Zidane been the one that got injured and not DP? I seriously doubt it.

"We have studied the accounts and found things which are not explained by the president," Mendoza (president of Madrid fan group Asociacion por los Valores del Madridismo) said. "Florentino only recognises the 'net' financial debt, which is only the debt owed to the banks, some 90 million euros. But Madrid has more debts than just banks -- to players, clubs, sporting associations, public administration, suppliers. That all adds up to 541 million euros, more than double the debt Florentino inherited from Lorenzo Sanz."
Perez hushed Mendoza down when he tried to present this at Real Madrid's last AGM. In the end it gets covered exterior to Real Madrid CF, someone keeps picking up the bill. We don't have that luxury to fall back on, we aren't the team of a council, region, government, monarchy and nation.

By far the greatest of all time. I feel sorry for those who were not able to witness the football pleasure he gave the fans week in week out.

Zidane was amazing, better than Messi? no way

Ronaldo 7, Ronaldo 9, Ronaldinho, Messi are/were all better than Zizou imo
Messi can just hope to be able to clean Zidane´s boots. That was said as a huge Zidane fanoy :D

But seriously, Messi is god in what he does... Zidane was god in what he did. Different players, but both are as influential to the game as a player can be.
My opinion? As i have stated before, Zidane mastered every single offensive role in the game. IMO he was a much more complete player. THE master of football.

Messi is a goal scorer specialist, maybe tied with CRonaldo as the best in history.

All those 3 players deserve to be high in the podium of football legends.

And as much as i loved and still admire Zidane.. we all have to admit he is an enemy to our cause now.
