I had a discussion with one of my colleagues on our company forum. I said that Zidane is the best player throughout history, I know it's debatable but I simply rate him higher than Pelé and Maradona. Anyway, I ended the discussion when he said that Zidane is good but he is probably in the top 20 footballers.

Seriously now, how can you argue with a person who thinks Gordon Banks is a better footballer than Zidane?

It's debatable between him and Maradona... I'd choose Zidane because I've watched more of him during his entire career.

Zidane is definitely one of the best, but it's really hard comparing players across generations.

Maradona, Pele, Platini, Cruyff, Zidane, Garrinchia, Puskas, Eusebio, Di Stefano, Baggio, Baresi, and the list goes on. Any on those can lay claim to being the greatest ever.
