Beggin yer pardon miss, but Fabregas should be under more pressure than Wayne Rooney. He's just a kid, living and working in a foreign country, the only friends he has are his teammates, his parents can only come over once in a while, and his workplace is a high-intensity joint where the bosses demand perfection each and every time. That would be enough to make anyone snap. But Fabregas didn't learn no cuss words as part of his repetoire. And he speaks four languages. How many does Wayne Rooney speak?
And talking of pressure, I agree that the English press does tend to overhype their players and put them under a microscope, but that is no excuse for bad behaviour. Swearing at referees is inexcusable no matter the "pressure" the player thinks he's under. I believe he acts that way because he feels they owe him something for being the "saviour" of English football, that he should be allowed to kick opposing players because he's the "next big thing", and that the refs should all be scared of him.
That is a very wrong attitude for any kind of professional, least of all a football player.

You dont get it, and no amount of explain will tell you. just try to imagine what it helps like to have your every single move watched and recorded. People waiting for just 1 slip and its all over the newspapers, can for crying out loud how the hell doesnt swear when they are angry? I mean come on dont be dumb.
I enjoy a good ole debate as much as the next guy, but this is really crossing the line. The other day, it was "dont be stupid". Today, it's "dont be dumb".

I know exactly how it feels to have people watching your every move, praying you make a slip so they can broadcast it to the whole world. I've been there. It wasn't nice, but I had to ride it out because if I didin't want the attention, I'd have stayed out of the limelight. But, it made me a better person. I was more careful of my utterances, and my actions cos I didn't want to let the people who put me in office down. It was a very tough year, but I had no choice other than to finish my mandate and move on.
Wayne Rooney gets paid a fabulous salary by any standard. Not so long ago, it was considered outrageous for a club to shell out 5 million pounds on a player. When I hear of players taking home huge weekly salaries, I get giddy. I even wonder why I never bothered to hone my football skills so that one day, I too would have been on a field somewhere, with the crowds singing my name, and taking home huge salaries. But I didn't and that's now history. But Wayne Rooney fed on the hype. When Manchester United came knocking, he didn't say he wanted to stay at Everton, where the pressure and spotlight were considerably less. He requested a transfer because he wanted to become a megastar, earn the huge wage and have the groupies hanging around him. He walked into stardom with his eyes open, and now he wants to ***** and moan about it? Gimme a f*cking break!!!
I've never heard about Ryan Giggs (a player I respect immensely) abusing a ref, or getting involved in any off-pitch foolishness. Or Paul Scholes for that matter. These are the players Rooney should be hanging out with. They would teach him some valuable lessons about life.

Taken by themselves, "dont be stupid" and "dont be dumb" dont sound like insults at all do they? They sound more like advice. It's the hidden meaning behind the words. If you tell somebody not to be stupid, then you're of course implying that the person is stupid.
