I never liked the way zebina was playing. it was allways a big risk.
Yes. He was very inconsistent with his defending, sometimes a bit on the wild side. I was happy with his 03-04 season but even so, whenever he played there was always that sense of unpredictability. You never quite know what Zebina is going to do next. He might put in a strong saving tackle or decide to simply pull the opposition player down.

Zebina set for exit, says agent
Tuesday 3 January, 2006
Jonathan Zebina will leave Italian champions Juventus in January, his agent has confirmed.

The international, who only arrived at the Stadio Delle Alpi in the summer of 2004, will move on after his relationship with the outfit collapsed.

"The Frenchman will change shirts because he does have problems with Juventus," Franco Zavaglia stated.

Zebina, who has missed most of this season with injury, is alleged to have clashed with the hierarchy after asking for a pay rise.

That request was not welcomed by the Turin giants who are ready to dispose of him within the next month.

The right-back has numerous options available to him with Milan and Liverpool in pole position to sign him.

He could move to the Rossoneri in a deal which sees Christian Abbiati’s loan contract turned into a permanent one.

Milan do need a right-back too as Jaap Stam and Marcos Cafu are likely to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

Juventus will therefore continue to use Gianluca Zambrotta on the right until Willy Sagnol arrives on a free from Bayern Munich in the summer.

Although I wouldn't really care if Zebina left, this would mean Chiellini would keep playing left back for the rest of the season, so I think it would be better if he left in the summer.

If we can't have Sagnol why Zebina should go?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I mentioned attending fashion shows earlier there's no place for him in the squad anymore. He made a mistake and Moggi is not a type of person who easily forgives this kind of stupidity.

Magpies eye Zebina swoop
Wednesday 18 January, 2006
Newcastle United have entered the race to sign out-of-favour Juventus defender Jonathan Zebina, according to reports in Italy.

Liverpool and Milan have also been linked with the Frenchman, but with the Reds having now completed the signing of Jan Kromkamp and Daniel Agger, and the Rossoneri having ruled themselves out of the running for the full-back, United would appear to be frontrunners.

Zebina is surplus to requirements at Juve after spending most of the season out with a succession of injuries and asking for a pay rise deemed to be excessive by the club.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are in need of defensive reinforcements after suffering a catalogue of injuries to their playing staff including Michael Owen, Kieron Dyer, former Inter midfielder Emre, Scott Parker, Shola Ameobi and defenders Steven Taylor, Craig Moore, Titus Bramble and Stephen Carr.

Magpies Coach Graeme Souness is in the market for both a defender and a striker, but is having to fight tooth and nail to receive the funding to help ease the injury crisis.

Zebina, who has become a regular for France under Raymond Domenech, is a versatile player who is just as comfortable in central defence as he is at right-back.

The former Roma defender is still only 27 and has won titles with both the Giallorossi and the Italian champions.
