I wouldn't mind that. Hopefully England will be the first to crash out of the tournament, similar to France in 2002, if I remember correctly.

Yeah. Too good to be true.

I honestly don't know who I want from that pot 3. Maybe Paraguay because Bielsa's Chile sort of scares me.
    we scare you, Andy?
    nice :D

Paraguay is a deadly team too. Specially if Salvador Cabañas is in a great form; he's a superb striker.

e: Besides, if you're scared of Bielsa you should be scared also of Martino - Paraguay coach - he follows the same style of football that Bielsa practice.

fuck you France, pot 1 is ours you froggy bastards!

    Justice.
The pots are actually interesting if you have a closer look. They allocated them based on "region" (without considering pot A which is based on the rankings). Pot D is not the weakest just the one that has the rest of the European teams.

Pot B has the Asians and New Zealand with the Concacaf. Pot C has the africans and south Americans.

On plain view the weakest is pot B.

So effectively they have favored the African nations heavily here imo. They dont play eachother and have a bigger chance of getting a weaker nation.

For 2006 it was different with this method

"FIFA used the FIFA World Rankings in combination with performances of national teams in the two previous World Cups. [1]

Points were allocated on the basis of 32 for the best achieving of the 32 qualifiers for 2006 FIFA World Cup in each of the five fields considered, down to one for the lowest ranking." -- from Wikipedia.

So its interesting how they did it this time.

That's what I thought, too. CONCACAF gets the short end of the stick again, not able to draw any of the weakest countries. Pots like these also protect the big boys of course.

I'm not entirely optimistic about our chances for a few different reasons, the pot setup is one.

Were seeded wow?, I don't mind who we draw to be honest, potentially we can give anyone a game on our day. Realisticly I expect us to get to the quarters.

Are you an England supporter? Your location suggests so but I can't remember ever seeing you comment on them
I am indeed mate, I don't take much interest in National Football boring if you ask me, however where and when I will comment on England.
