The server usually gets crowded on weekends, this server is the database server for a popular vBulletin forum with usually around 1500 online users, so that's the reason for the slowdowns. I'll see what I can do to speed things up.

I love a lot of things on here, but i think my most hated thing is that it takes 14 hours to load anything you do on here.

well it cant be perfect can it ... its not as annoying anyway .. makes me re think posting a stupid post so when the loading is doen i change my mind .....

The site is not a house .. it doesn't "settle" over time.

As Marty said there is another site (as well as others that we host) on this server which can have busy weekends. Maybe a little bit of server balancing between servers will help.

To what Burke says, there could be some truth to it. There's a lot to system caching that goes on and can be tuned by hosting providers, etc., to account for the footprint users leave.

But my guess is more to what Marty writes about here... he may have to hire a few goons to break some things down at the Web host's offices to get him on a less loaded shared server.
