Tony Roma's
Krispy Kreme
TGI Friday's
Any steakhouse

The place that sells laksa at my univeristy
Seafood/Barbecue buffets

that's it for now

My 5 favorite places:

Please note, to all my Italian and Italian American friends out there. There are no Italian places on this list for two reasons.

#1) No restaurant cooks as well as my Mom.

#2) Because i'm on the Atkins Diet, Breads and Pastas are out of the picture for the Time Being.

Now that I got that disclaimer out of the way:

#1) Oki's Japanese Steak House.

#2) Fire and Ice

#3) T.G.I.F's

#4) Ruby Tuesday's

#5) Home. (I'm a damn good cook.):)

Yes, and they're Atkins friendly, so that's a big help.

Atkins is actually starting to become more accepted and well-received.

Turthfully, Paul, It's worked for me.

On Jan 1st, I was 249 pounds. I'm now 225, with 10 more pounds to go. (Keep in mind I'm nearly 6'4", as MiaWallace can attest to) I have more energy, my blood sugar level has really stabilized, and I haven't felt this good in a while.

The misconception of the diet is that you can sit there and eat as much bacon, butter, and cheese as you want, and you'll lose weight.

That's not the case. All you'll have is a heart attack and bad skin. Basically what it does is it cuts out junk food, starchy foods, and really any foods that are high in carbohydrates. Now, your body needs carbs, but not nearly as much as you think. I get most of my carbs daily from certain vegetables, and once I day I'll have a low carb pita. My intake is around 25 grams of Carbs per day, and once I reach my goal weight, I can then start to add more carbs into my diet until I stop losing weight, or start gaining again.

Trust me, I heard all the bugaboos about the Diet, and it isn't for everyone, but in my situation with my high blood sugar, and low count of good cholesterol, this diet was perfect for me. I made sure I bought the book, and read and re-read it to make sure this was right for me. I eat a lot of chicken anyway, and that's a staple in the Atkins diet, as are vegetables. It boils down to eating right, and when cooking, using the best oils, like extra virgin olive oil, or canola oil, that have decent amounts of Good Fats that you need in your diet anyway.

    So Far, So Good.

    Thanks Paul.

Your words of encouragement are appreciated.

Once I get to 215, its back to the gym to tone up.

That is where I want to be. 6'4" 215lbs is pretty damn good.
