Very nice very nice. I like that. But we need anoter RB like Miguel then that team is totally crazy.
actually zebina fits good in that formation for the fact that he has great shots in for the most advanced attacker at least thats what i think

Yes i know theres allready a thread... But its a mess and not quite what i was looking for...

What squad (18 men) and formation would you personally use... I have no interest in what cap will do, or whether its in the spirit of juve etc... Just purely your choice from the players we have (no people you want or that may come)

It doesnt really matter if it would even work (as long as its not something really stupid) ... jus a formation you like from the squad you have chosen

Based on our current squad , i too will go with a 3 man defence but if we do get to buy Miguel as they are speculating in the media then i will play a 4 man back 4

I am gonna be controversial (ooh what a surprise) by dropping Nedved and Trez to the bench

Nedved, because save for his European of the year season has ranged from mediocre, like he was last season to just above average , in all his time at Juventus but somehow he escapes criticism like some player gets here all the time

To be fair , the same can be said for Trez and Thuram as in their 5 or 6 years here, they have had just 1 brilliant season and the rest of their stay here has varied from average to fairly good even if Trez has been blighted by injuries

The reason I won't start him is because i feel he can come off the bench and score with little time to adjust to the pace of the game, and lets be fair even if he does start he doesn't adjust to the pace of the game anyways so i just feel off al the players we got in forward positions, he is the most likely to be useful from the bench unlike the others who will probably need more time than necessary

Buffon

Thuram Cannavaro Kovacs
Zambrotta

Camoranesi
Vieria Emerson

Mutu Dp

Zlatan

If the front 3 can learn to play off eachother, i think they could be magic

Chellini
Pessotto
Nedved
Trez
Chimenti
Giannichedda
Blasi

Zlatan didn't even make the bench
Im actually surprised your the only one to mention that...

That was actually nothing against zlatan... As i said my formation and bench was designed purely around the word "team"... Zlatan jus didnt fit in my starting line up and then with the line up i chose it also meant he didnt really fit on the bench to give the options i was after....

If i'd chosen a 4-4-2 he would of made the squad

Having said that it would also be untrue if i didnt admit i dont rate zlatan as highly as many here do... Which i dont... To me he asks too many questions and gives very few answers...jmo

I considered that as well... Dropping nedved would free up alot of space for mutu and options for the use of zambro... However the idea of playing him in front of defence is one ive had for a long time and wanted to look at...

As for trez... as most who have been here for a long time know... I am not a fan of trez... His lack of workrate bugs the hell out of me and when the going gets tough in a match, on many occasions having trez in the team is like we are allways playing with 10 men...

However... he is the only natural goal scorer we have... I am personally a believer in the train of thought that says every team needs a 20 goal a season striker... as such trez is our only option... If hes fit for 2/3rds of the season he will get 20 or so goals without doubt... for all his faults, he is a top finisher...

Trez along with the position of nedved actually shaped most of my formation... as i needed to try and find a way of dampening the effect of trezs disapearing acts...

Personally i think i did that... though of course i accept its not a perfect solution... but like i said earlier... no formation is perfect... every formation / team has weakness' to be exploited

paul you are taking 2 full backs and only one striker ?
yes... with the strikers allready on the pitch... no real need for more... though i would prefer a viable cb in place of a fb

and you honestly think emerson is not worthy of the starting 11 ?
Yes of course he is... but he didnt fit my chosen formation...

I also struggle with the idea of playing with both vieira and emerson in the same line up... i think you lose too much going forward...(something which to me is allready being born true in our friendlies)

As such it means i need to pick one or the other and i pick vieira... To me he offers slightly more... but mainly as i said he is more suited to the formation i have chosen

i feel like i am being repetitive but but emerson is capable of going forward. but the more you think about it the more you wonder whether somebody like rosicky was a better choice. knowing capello though both viera and emerson will play together

As far as I know, last night was the first time they played together in the friendlies.

Vieira and Emerosn have very similar qualities in going forward, defending and gaining back possession.

they played the poli game as well and in both games we struggled to bring balls out of the midfield... mostly relying on the forwards dropping deep to get the ball

Did i say he wasnt capable or vieira for that matter... You seem to have missed the idea that this was purely a formation i personally like... nothing more
