They wanted to sign Alonso on the cheap last season and they failed to do so, now after the performances he has put in this season his price went up and we have no chance of signing him, we didn't take the chance when we should of and now we are paying for it

Wont happen, so lets not bother.

But what I dont get is those saying they prefer him to Diego or Cassano, like its one or the other? Xabi if it would happen, HAS to be signed as another midfield player in addition to the AM we need. He is a DM regista, not Nedved replacement. Not an option for our sole big mid signing, ridicolous to think otherwise. Wouldnt want this to happen if that was the case.

That is what I was saying as well. If we got him that means a 442 stays hence the need still for a LM to replace Neddy and some kind of RM to either replace Camo or a better backup than Macaroni and Cheese. That would be too expensive, but Instant Mac n Cheese is affordable :shifty:

Indeed. After Brozetti merely reccomended us to sign Xabi the cracker English press don't hesistate to all link him with us.
bronzetti talks to the press too much
and when he says which player would suit which club, the papers interprete as the club is after that player

boolocks, liverpool were willing to sell, ONLY once they signed up Barry, once the BArry deal feel though then pool were never gonna leave themselves short. we were negotiating hard and may have to pay the going rate but this is a deal that is very possible

that's NOt how it went down.....they wanted us to pay money equal to what was being demanded by villa!! so they would have enough dough to pay for barry cuz benitez had already used up all his budget on keane & co.

it's only because we failed to meet their demands that the deal fell thru and subsequently the barry deal fell thru shortly after.
