As much as I want us to spend more, we simply don't have Berlusconi to give us money and to cover our accounting frauds.

Milan gave 21 mil for ronaldinho who is in a very bad position right now and is 28 years old. We coludn't pay 18 mil for Alonso who is 26 and everybdy new we need him very much. Milan spends so much even if they are not playing C.L. and they make a team that can attack and create game. We make a team that only can defend.

No offense but it would be more stupid if u think that giovinco would get lesser time because of alonso !! One in CM and the other is LM, THEY CAN PLAY TOGETHER in fact they would be great together in the mid.

To support these attacking options you need a strong, athletic midfield who can cover and protect the defence and also add some offensive plays, that is what we now have.

Ehm, all I did was just point out that we don't have someone to pump money into the club, because we simply don't. Actually, I am proud that Juve is one of the top clubs in Italy and maybe in Europe (we'll find out this season) that is financially independent.

It's ok apparently Arsenal are going to try to buy him. That would be a stupid sell on our part. Having to contest with Cesc and Alonso in the same midfield week after week. They don't play the same position. I think Giovinco would move into the lineup for Nedved as the season progresses regardless of who the center mid combination was.

Good point. You guys have the best strike combination in Serie A, if you count all four. You proved last year you could score without much midfield creativity. The only thing a player like Xabi would do is add fluidity to your midfield and possible help create more goals and maintain possession which would help on the defensive end. That said, losing out on Xabi isn't the end of the world. As you guys are already proven offensively. The thing I'm wondering is whether Juventus will play Poulsen beside Sissoko or Chiellini. It would be interesting if they decided to use him in defense and just go with Zanetti and Sissoko in midfield.

We did however have problems in defence, particularly early on with the poor Tiago and Almiron and the rookie Nocerino in front of them. I expect Poulsen, Momo, Zanetti, Marchisio to offer the protection and also assist. Wasnt Zanetti the 3rd top assister in the league, IIRC? Sure, Xabi Alonso would have been nice, if not just to see if we could play with so much attacking talent but it seems Tiago will get another chance to turn games when we start to run out of ideas. With the wingers we have plus strikers who can create and score I am not worried about unlocking teams. There will be games again where we cant break teams down so well but every team has those games. I think most fans will be envious of our attacking options and potential.

It's not a bad midfield, the Zebras will be fine. Juve have the talent up front to hang around and compete in the league. And there's always bargain shopping in the January market, which can turn some decent dividends. At Pool last summer we were shopping for a center back to add competition and provide a long term solution for Hyypia. When we couldn't get Heinze, we decided to wait until January and ended up with Skrtel for 6 mil who IMO has a great future and was a better buy the Heinze because of Heinze's age and wages.

I asked how many matches you watched, in case you missed the ones we suffered so much in the midfield with our inept tactics and desperate long balls.
In case you have forgotten how lucky we were to score some goals from non chances, in case you have forgotten how much we depend in some players, that are now near retirement.
In case you have forgotten that we have rarely ever won a match without Neddy present...

We played an open game, we risked more and we conceded a lot in the process,
against well oiled teams, with a tactical plan and the teamwork to properly defend as one and hit us back at counter attacks, we stand no chance.
Just like we had no chance in Capello's era, with the difference we even have less tools to efficiently do the job for us now.
This system only worked against inferior or inefficient teams, we used our seer power to go through, but now we lacked this power and it is likely that we will lose our determination, because we already made our point that we are back.

We were supposed to step up and avoid making the same mistakes,
we are about to face stronger teams this year, both domestically and abroad.
We had a whole a year to prepare our team and find a solution to the problems which haunted us for the entire season.

Thats why i was kind of surprised how could you possibly missed one of our most vital ones...
