I pray that this is true! If we snatch up Alonso, we will have had a good transfer market 
Some of the new reports on j1897 and another italian website say that poulsen affair is a bluff to push liverpool into accepting our offer for XABI, highly doubt our board would try such a tactic.....but lets hope!

Ma questa trattativa è subordinata a quella che parallelamente ha condotto l'ad Blanc a Nyon, in occasione di una riunione dei club appartenenti all'ex G-14, con il suo omologo del Liverpool Rick Parry. Per il momento non c'è stato alcun annuncio, ma da fonti di stampa britannica pare che i Reds abbiano deciso di applicare "lo sconto" richiesto dalla Juve per chiudere la trattativa.
Se così fosse, il "bluff" Poulsen sarebbe stata una mossa magistrale che avrebbe fatto cadere il Liverpool nella trappola. One last thing though; I was SURE they signed poulsen. If it really is the way they described it there, that secco was bluffing by arranging this meeting with poulsen's agent while blanc sealed with pool, then i must take back all the insults and bow to our management... Hats off in that case, but i'll wait until i judge anyone, be it in a good or bad way...

After fighting tooth and nail with Villa boss Martin O’Neill over midfielder Gareth Barry, it appears that after some consideration, the Midlands club are finally ready to give in to Liverpool’s final offer.
Martin O’Neill is ready to accept Liverpool’s £15 million offer for Gareth Barry now that Steve Finnan has been offered in a part-exchange deal. As Barry, the England midfield player, was expressing his disappointment at the controversial nature of his departure from Aston Villa, the manager was preparing to sign Steve Sidwell as a midfield replacement.
Sidwell is due to have talks with Luiz Felipe Scolari over the next 24 hours, when it is believed that the new Chelsea manager will confirm that the midfield player, signed from Reading on a free transfer last summer, will be told that he can join Villa for £5 million. (The Times)
With Sidwell currently on the way out at Chelsea and potentially heading to Villa, the move for Barry could be in the final stages. And to think, all it took was the original £15m offer plus right-back Steve Finnan to force Martin’s hand. Both parties should be more than happy to see this whole saga come to an end. The only sad party involved could be the national media, that covered this story from every view possible for the last month.

Which leads me to...... Since everyone (included me, tbh) was angry after we read the news about Poulsen and Stankovic, why aren't we celebrating now when we read the good news ?
I mean, we attacked the board for some newspapers stories, why don't we celebrate and praise them for another newspaper story.
Beh, it's useless. I guess it's in every fan's genes to act that way.
