well i am not a scout...

but for 30 mil tops we can get a hell of a midfielder...

let me think

VdV
Diego
Schweinsteiger
Essien
Perrota
João Moutinho
Rakitic
vdV, Essien and Diego - If they're put on the market i can guarantee you that all the big clubs will make a bid.
Now, since every team will be able to offer the 25-30m eur required for their clubs to let them go, the winner will be the team that will offer them the highest wages.
I guess you know the advantage with the taxes the other bug club have to the Italian teams, but even if we somehow manage to match that, we'll certainly have to pay them minimum 6m eur a year.
When you add the taxes you'll see that in order for Diego, Essien and vdV to earn 6m eur net, Juventus will have to pay a total of ~12m eur per year, only for their wages.
If they sign a 4 year contract then just by using simple maths we can see that in a period of 4 years Juventus will have to pay 4X12m for the wages + 30m to buy the player.
The operation costs Juventus ~80m eur.
You think we can allow this ?

Joao Moutinho - Again every big team will want him and the wages will decide where he'll end up. You think we can beat Chelsea, Real or Manchester in the race for Moutinho ?

Schweinsteiger - This is more realistic. The problem is Bayern don't want to sell and if we want them to change their minds we'll have to make a great offer (+20-25m eur) and offer him very high wages. It's going to be a 60m eur operation. You think he deserves these money ?

Perrotta - You seriously want him ?
31 years old, Roma want 15m eur for him and he'd like to secure his future by signing a 4 year contract. He'll require high wages and we'll have to pay him these wages even when he'll be 34 or 35.
The total cost of this operation will be +40m eur

Rakitic - The most realistic signing but even though i like him and rate him high, we should sign him only if we first secure a playmaker (Xabi Alonso).

why 2??

we already got

Sissoko
Zanneti
Marchisio
Tiago (probably leaving)

and if Xabi Alonso joins we got 4

that should be enough right...

sell almiron to Galatasaray and maybe get Arda Turan or something...
dont get stankovic
I didn'y say 2 CM's. I said two midfielders. We need someone on the flanks.. Nedved is playing his last year at Juve, and we need a someone that could play in Camo''s position in case of injury or suspension.. Giovinco alone is not enough,,

Real Madrid Hijack Xabi Deal
AS en Ingles
July 7, 2008

Juventus may have lost the race for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid. Reports emanating from various sources have indicated the Spanish international is close to signing with Los Merengues.

The Turin club have reportedly been trying to strike a deal for Xabi, but Juventus' transfer specialist Alessio Secco has seemingly been unable to strike a deal with Liverpool. Rafa Benitez's side reportedly requested 20 million Euros for the midfielder, however Juventus was said to have a limit order of only 18 million Euros.

With the delay of a deal to take the Spanish playmaker to Juventus, Real Madrid have stepped in and now appear to be in pole position for the player. Xabi Alonso would provide Los Merengues with the passing range they seemed to lack in the previous season, potentially the only negative aspect of their play.
