Juve Fans Launch Another Transfer Petition
Juventus supporters have launched yet another campaign, this time calling for the club to sign Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
It is no secret that a large portion of the Bianconeri fan-base do not hold the greatest trust in transfer director Alessio Secco and the rest of the club’s hierarchy.
Over the last few weeks, internet fans have launched a number of campaigns which have helped influence Juve’s transfer policy. These include protests to stop the sale of Sebastian Giovinco and Vincenzo Iaquinta, as well as the angry demonstration against the proposed signing of Inter’s Dejan Stankovic, which succeeded.
Juventus are well known to be in the market to sign a centre midfielder, and have been strongly associated with the likes of Xabi Alonso, Marek Hamsik, Alberto Aquilani and most recently Christian Poulsen.
On the Juve website,
www.vecchiasignora.com, fans have started a petition calling for the club to sign Alonso, and within just a few hours they have already obtained 3000 signatures.
English newspaper The Daily Mail has today claimed that Juventus have offered Liverpool an improved bid of €20.5m for the Spaniard, so it is highly possible that the fans wishes may come true.
