well yes, i didn't rebuild our defence of course. That would be a very attacking line-up of course. but in case we NEED to score this would be awesome. I think Del Piero actually LIKES this position. I may be wrong but he didn't always play that deep up front if i remember. and i think giovinco behind the strikers is asking too much. At least for his first season, i don't think he can do that. He's a winger-type of player. And he plays in a similar position to neddy (something like 'ALM'). Giovinco is NOT a trequartista! If we sign a good LB i think we could try that 3-man-defence. The advantages of that system is that it's pretty versatile. We could easily take out a striker and send in a defender. but of course, that's very attacking. Usually, i'd prefer a much more defending system but you have to line-up what you have, and we definately don't have a good defence, so it's no use trying to play defence because we just can't. but you're right of course; that defence cannot survive
yes!! I think if some1 like Grosso come, it will be ok

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has urged his side to sign Liverpool's Xabi Alonso and Roma's Alberto Aquilani.

Both the Liverpool and Roma midfielders have been heavily linked with a transfer to the Old Lady as she looks to bolster her squad in light of next season's Champions League commitments.

The Bianconeri are currently involved in talks with the Merseysiders over Alonso and the player himself has revealed he wants to join Juve.

Aquilani's arrival seems a little more complicated but Del Piero is pushing his side towards bringing both players to Turin.

"Xabi Alonso or Aquilani? I wish both of them came," said Del Piero.

Juve are reportedly close to signing Alonso from Liverpool and reports in Italy claim the player is on the verge of signing a deal worth 3m per season.

Alonso is keen on playing alongside Del Piero and the rest of the Juve squad and he reveals he cannot wait to play for the Old Lady.

"It would be magnificent to play alongside Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet and Amauri," Alonso told Tuttosport.

"They are three great champions." Juventus are eager to try and tie up a deal with Alonso before he begins the Euro 2008 tournament as they fear any great performance may hike up the price for him.

Xabi Alonso admits he is flattered by Juventus' interest in him, amid speculation his switch from Liverpool to Serie A could soon be completed.

The classy Liverpool schemer is currently preparing for Spain's Euro 2008 bid against a backdrop of ongoing uncertainty over his future.

Earlier in the summer he rejected out of hand reports that have linked him with a return to Spain, with Real Madrid credited as holding a long-standing interest in his services.

But when quizzed on Juventus, who Liverpool are engaged in discussions with, Alonso conceded it would be an honour to wear the prestigious black and white stripes.

Historic club

"I know the Bianconeri follow me," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport from Spain's training camp.

"I know there has already been contact with Liverpool and my agent too.

"I can say that I am really proud to be linked with a strong and historical side like Juventus."

Alonso went on to his express his admiration for those players that stayed in Turin despite Juventus' demotion to Serie B for the part they played in a match-fixing scandal.

Admiration

"I know what happened at Juve," he added.

"For this reason I have big respect for (Alessandro) Del Piero, (Gianluigi) Buffon, (Pavel) Nedved and (David) Trezeguet - big champions who had the courage to play in Serie B.

"This is something I like a lot. After four years in La Liga and four years in England, playing in Italy would be like completing my career."

Liverpool wont sell him to Chelsea.
:money: talks here, if chelsea R paying extra 5-7 millions then am sure liverpool will sell him to them.....Liverpool needs the extra cash and i don't c liverpool pushing for the league title anytime soon, so realistically their direct rivals r tottenham and arsenal more than chelsea and man.......

We can only hope that Chelsea and Madrid want to buy him. With the INFLATED 17 mil pounds we were going to spend we can buy some better players who do more then just pass.

As I have said before he is an OK player but not GREAT. GREAT midfielders score goals and tackle hard and well he doesent.

So go for him Chelsea it would be good.

lets sign Cigarini for peanuts sell Almiron and put table a massive offer for Acqualini.

If chelsea want Xabi we should look at Eissen, Ballack and Lampard these three players would be better in the midfield.

Also we have Sissoko who does work for 2 players so other players like Deco, VDV would be worth consideration too.

Alonso is like a robot and he is NOT worth this much money espically when Sissoko was only 12 mil and everyone thought that was too much!
