Real have much more bigger fish to lure, Alonso is not a priority to them, Liverpool want to bring in new blood and they could be interested to cash in, Alonso himself would be interested to first team football.

I think the only real problem is Liverpool's demands and our transfer budget...

Oh - Thanks. All those guys werent even ringing a bell in my head. Is buffon right in saying Aquilani will turn out better than Xabi?
Though they play differnt midfield roles imo since Aquilani is more box-to-box and Xabi is more deep lying playmaker who dont particularly tackle well eg Pirlo and Carrick
Porbably, yes.Aquilani has age,and Serie A experience on his side.

Gigli: We Will Get Xabi Alonso
Juventus chief Giovanni Cobolli Gigli reveals that his club are working hard in order to sign Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso

The Bianconeri have been after the Spanish international as they look to strengthen the midfield and the idea is that Alonso will play alongside his old team mate Momo Sissoko to add strength and depth in the middle of the pitch.

Reports claim that Liverpool want £16m for Alonso but Juve are trying to bring that price down.

"Alonso? I think that his agent will arrive in Turin today," said Gigli.

"We cannot deny the fact that we are interested in him but then there is the slight problem of value for money.

"Jean Claude Blanc is working hard on the Alonso possibility as well as others."

The Bianconeri are keen on investing in their side this term as they prepare for a return to European football's big time in the Champions League.

Juve have also been linked with Frank Lampard, Diego, Rafael Van Der Vaart and Marek Hamsik but it seems as if they are hell-bent on the Liverpool man.

Typical Goal.com article.

The headline has nothing to do with what is actually said.

So what is the general consensus on this player? I think it would be a great signing. He is one that can truly boss our midfield. Our very own Pirlo
