Alonso: I'm Staying Put
Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso will fight for his future at Anfield, even if Rafa Benitez succeeds in signing Aston Villa’s Gareth Barry…

Latest rumours claim that Mancini and Inter will part ways, despite everyone says it's Mourihnio,it's RAFA BENITEZ who could be their next coach...according to sports.it
i think if that happens it will change the whole situation over there in Liverpool...
including Alonso.

News flash sports fans. Villa want 18 mil for Barry. Rafa is now pursuing Downing from Borough for 12mil as a back up.

But we've also offered Carson and Crouch so who knows what's up.

Lots of talent??

I wouldnt go that far, he's a one dimensional player as far as i'm concerned.
I agree. But he does make more sense especially if the domestic player rule goes down. Anyway if Downing is the best that we can do then next season is going to be a long one. I've accepted that our best signing of the summer will be Sammy Lee and that's not saying much.

Definitely not, i wouldnt want him at Arsenal if Boro payed us to have him. He just wont fit in our style of football.

I hear the Gunners are linked with Ben Arfa. Too bad he doesn't know how to pass.

i'd take him over Downing any day of the week and twice on fridays.

Your style of football? Aren't you tired of passing your way out of title contention?

It's pretty funny that you wouldn't take Downing considering you've been playing centre midfielders on your left wing in recent seasons.

I dont believe our style of football is to blame for our lack of trophies. More like the lack of leadership in our team, the lack of squad depth, our incapability to finish games off and injuries are bigger factors.

He's too one dimensional, Arsene likes em versatile. Downing can only play on the left wing and he can only do one thing, run down the left flank and cross. I dont understand the hype around him, he's got a good cross, thats all there is to him. I rate bentley higher tbh.

A Scot having a terrible taste in beer? I guess it makes sense because most of you have a terrible taste in football.
I am the exception to the rule.

To be fair, I don't know what the Stella you get in the US is like. The Stella in continental Europe is way nicer than what we get sold in the UK.

That's who I really hope we can get.
