He he, the ideal player to replace Iaquinta, nearly 30, with caps in NT, a would have been.
A striker that cant actually strike that much.
But a recognized force in Italy, although very inconsistent.

Since we are likely to get rid of the dead wood this summer, we need to have them replaced with new junk.
Someone has to waste a 3mil spot in our squad, at all times!

Borriello would make 0 sense this January.

Even if he replaces all three of Toni, Amauri and Iaquinta, he's just too good to be a 5th choice striker and has too high wages to be a 5th choice striker, but not good enough to take the place of our other strikers.
He makes no sense in a season when we aren't in CL.

We play 4-3-3.

On the left of the 3 men attack we can use: Vucinic, Elia, Estigarribia, Pepe, Giaccherini, even Quag or DP
In the center we can use: Matri, Quag, Vucinic, even DP (as well as the not needed Toni, Iaq, Amauri)
On the right we can use: Pepe, Krasic and all the other wingers or an attacker.

Borriello's position would be in the center but what more can he give than what Matri, Quag or Mirko would give?

I don't really mind getting Borriello but I see no reason for that. It's just like replacing one spectator from the stands with another one or like replacing Manninger with Castellazzi. It's nothing more than wasting wages.

So would Montolivo but we have a tradition to honor. We do this all the time in this new era.

Even if he replaces all three of Toni, Amauri and Iaquinta, he's just too good to be a 5th choice striker and has too high wages to be a 5th choice striker, but not good enough to take the place of our other strikers.

We bought far too many forwards with the exact same profile at very similar situation.
The last thing we will have to worry about is first team selection headaches.
As those options are reliably inconsistent...

Do you remember what i told you when you were cheering about the extra funds that will result after we get rid of Toni, Grosso, Amauri and Iaq?
Well, here we are now...

Its all about the effects such transfers will have to the fans.
If another team buys Tevez, their fans will start dreaming about goals, runs and titles.
Our fans will feel that they are not getting treated right.
As we are not able to make such a transfer, we need to find an alternative that will appeal to them.
Borriello fits that role! And thats the only reason we might consider him.

The NT caps are of great importance to our fans. It adds a lot to his prestige, also the fact that he has played in Milan and Rome.
As long as we can find players with such caps, we will be approaching them, regardless of our actual needs and their actual worth.
There is a positive side though, we need a striker more than yet another dribbler, so he is more relevant to our needs than others.

I have a feeling that Juve won't buy anyone unless Conte approves, and if Conte approves Borriello I completely concur to his judgement.
