There is an indelible image associated with Italy’s 1982 World Cup triumph in Spain.
It belongs to a Bianconeri legend that captivated an entire nation with one of the most iconic goal celebrations in football history.
Having provided the Azzurri with a two-goal cushion in their final with Germany, Marco Tardelli wheeled off in delight, screaming and pumping his clenched fists, as he celebrated taking his country one step closer to Jules Rimet glory.
And the celebration can now be relived time and time again at Juventus Musuem, after the Bianconeri’s futuristic attraction provided a home for two artefacts from that fantastic summer 30 years ago.
Adding to the already impressive collection of memorabilia is Marco Tardelli’s number 14 shirt and one of the boots worn by legendary captain Dino Zoff.
These have been kindly donated from Coverciano’s ‘Museo del Calcio’ and take pride of place in the ‘Brothers of Italy – International’ section dedicated to Azzurri triumphs.
