I support Poland but damn they were absolutely dreadful tonight. Even if we talk about all games in group stage, both Mexico and Arabia played more solid football, that's for sure. It just that it's a very short tournament so not necessarily all teams deservedly go through.

It's quite rare such a poor and lifeless team reaches the second round. Imagine what the likes of the US or Australia would give to have a striker like Lewandowski to finish of the hard work off their midfield.
This is the whole point of this tournament for the Polish NT but because they got out of the group the coach drinking friend journos will do anything they can to spin it as an enormous success.

I expect South Korea to manhandle Portugal for similar reasons. Already qualified, being a little lackadaisical. The question is will they be able to gas it fully when the elimination rounds start. That's gonna be true for France or Portugal, but somehow I don't suspect for Brazil.

I kind of agree with that. I like seeing new blood making the top tier, however, as football has a diversity problem. :D I am glad to see African nations make their case in the second round of the group stage, for example. Forza Senegal.

I don't mind when "unfamiliar" names make it deep in the tournament for those reasons. But if it mostly becomes that, you feel something is missing ... like when Porto beat Monaco for the 2004 CL final despite Porto's insane pedigree in hindsight.

I forgot about Turkey making it that far. But some years Germany and Brazil has no business being in the semis, let alone QFs.
Brazil had a good team back then. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo. Germany were meh..

Meanwhile in the national polish TV post-match studio "I hope Mbappe hurts himself" :touched:.
Same can be said about you, because it's clear he was joking.
And yes, we need two strikers for our long balls and Milik first touch plus the ability to make play makes him perfect for our out dated football. We were non existent when he wasn't playing.

It's a shame that Pavlik Dybalczyk chose to warm the Argie bench instead of leading Polan to glory

See, the problem is that you make it sound like we actually have a plan for a football game. Which we don't have.

I never said we have. Also the reference to Juve proofs we don't really have one. Both teams play shit and out dated football and their main strength is to play 2 physical strikers and hope something happens. But it is what it is, I will always cheer for Juve just like I will always cheer for Poland. One has to be a unlucky guy to be a fan of both of those teams. Either way, we are in the playoffs and that's the only thing that matters for me now.

Can't see him having any role with our current coach anyway, he can't help in defence. Does that remind u of someone?

I agree that we are both unlucky to cheer for both of them :lion:.

Well at least one of the teams didn't lose the entire board in 5 minutes :shifty:.
