I guess it’s safe to say in the end we know two big teams will make it to the final. I’m not sure if that has been the case 100% of the time but we just know that’s what’s gonna happen.
So it doesn’t really bother me to see underdogs pushing further and if they manage to go as far as to a final by playing good football so be it.
Case in point, 98’ Croatia was my favorite team of the cup and the one I think should’ve won.
With all its tradition Italy has absolutely sucked in two world cups and not even qualify for another two. Historically yes but technically are they even a big team anymore? Personally, if not for Brazil, I’d love to see an Asian/African team stepping up and breaking this cicle of Europeans/South Americans owning the competition.
