That's the problem. Kids will watch Giroud score 2 goals, bully the defenders & set up Mbappe 5 times. Mbappe will sky 2 shots then score a goal and the fans, media & everybody else will jerk off to Mbappe and in the same Breath ignore Giroud.

No wonder nobody wants to be a #9. Even CBs get more praise these days.
Ironically guys like Mbappe or Hazard will always praise Giroud, because they know they need him.

Germany needs to find a solution to their attack asap. Like I mentioned, them playing without a real number 9 just doesn't cut it.

Maybe Füllkrug can be the solution for now, but they have to start create new talented strikers like they used to do in plenty of numbers.

There's another example

Fullkrug comes on, immediately scores the equaliser and in the post match, the pundits were saying he was too slow with his near post run at 1-1 (that nobody else was making) and everybody is jerking Musiala off & excusing his multiple misses & not squaring the ball for a tap in.

If you're not "fun" to watch you need to be a 30 goal a season striker to get respect. Who cares if you need 40 chances to score 1 goal if you can nut Meg somebody 50 yards from goal?

To be fair, it was pretty stupid from De Bruyne.
It was true, though.
The average age of the starting XI yesterday was 29.9, and this includes a 21 years old kid in the line-up. That's way too old to win a World Cup. It's a year older than the oldest WC winning starting XI (Italy in 2006).

truth don't always have to be told out loud, especially when it's not some constructive criticism. you can't do shit about your age, so keep the opinion for yourself, or don't speak about it at least until the tournament ends. talking about it after the first match (they won btw) couldn't possibly lead to anything to the benefit of the team.

de bruyne could have retired from the nt for the sake of the country if he felt that his age is a concern. he choose to be stupid instead.

It doesn't matter if it's true or not.

You don't insult members of your own team. Besides, KDB is supposedly our best player. If he wants to be considered among true world class players, he should make things happen regardless. Messi has done just that. That being said, everyone knows what De Bruyne is like and they should have let it go. The reality is our next generation of players simply isn't good enough. I have big hopes for the 2030 World Cup though and it's normal that it is difficult to rebuild after a very succesful group of players.
