Btw this Saudi Argie game was first WC we could notice this there is a living crowd there. 2nd half was super super loud.

All the other games quiet as a library.

It helps the Saudis are neighbouring country.

I dont want to get too far ahead of myself but honestly Argentina were never favourites in my book. Such a disorganized, ageing squad. Yes they may get through but they wont make it past the likes of Brazil or Spain.

I'm convinced the only ones calling them favourites were messi fanboys

As much as I want Argentina to implode because of Messi they will manage to make through the group stage for sure. Just a hiccup.

Moreover I genuinely think England will have its best shot yet at a title. Their path to the final is one of the easiest ones. Imagine we have to listen to their boasting for the rest of our lives. Can’t let it happen, Força Brasil!

Their unbeaten run was a big part of that. And let's not forget: with a bit of luck they'd win 4-0 today. Their biggest problem is that they're so frail mentally.

Brazil needs some jihadball in their lives. Pragmatic teams almost always end up winning the tournament

JJ lolzillian defensive trio could be key to unlocking that :as:

Who are the favorites anyway?

Cant be Brazil either then, cause Brazil lost to Argentina last year in copa america final played in Brazil.

Most of the european teams have clear faults. No team is in ideal condition.

I'm for the USA, then any European team not England.

It's so damn hard to tell. It's the middle of the season on the fucking Sun.

It's basically a home game for them. It's a good win by them but Argentina is known for slow and poor starts. Hopefully KSA is beaten the next two matches.

In Italy‘s absence, I adopted Argentina. That was a mistake!

I remember listening to an ESPN podcast before the tournament……30 something games unbeaten….. then I thought….. that is actually a curse. You can see when they went behind they panicked because they are not used to it.

The unbeaten run is a bit misleading. Mostly easy opponents. I still think they’ll kick back though.

Well, on paper Argentina never added up to the hype. It was only their ConMeBol record we had to go on.

This one felt like France at WC 2002.

I am biased a bit, but I think Germany or France take it, with Spain or Belgium as dark horses.
I think Brazil has the most complete team of contenders.

Belgium already past their peak, their best defenders are old or retired. Also they should have done something (win euros) by now. They dont have big team mentality. They will fall on their asses again.

Spain lack a Villa or Torres type of striker. If they had that they could do something.

France too many injury issues and defending champs curse (their group is too easy to fail there). Swiss knocked them out even with Pogba and Benzema last summer.

Germany dont convince me either, still rebuilding and work in progress. All euro sides have flaws.

I was suspicious about Arg defense to win WC and of course some of their individual players form as we know very well like Di Maria.
