Uruguay would be a good test to see where Russia stand in terms of their knockout prospects. Wont be surprised at all to see them eek out a draw atleast and top the group.

Seems its increasingly shaping up towards a Portugal-Russia Ro16 tie. With some luck and ref favors, they can knock Portugal out IMO
Admittedly I've been underrating Russia before the Egypt match but this goes too far

You know the World CUp has infected your mind, when you are looking forward to watching shitty teams such as Morocco, Saudi and Iran.

The problem is that Uruguay will surely beat Saudi Arabia today. Both Uruguay and Russia would have qualified by then, and the match will be more or less two teams attempting to conserve energy. It also doesn't help that Group B has Portugal and Spain, it doesn't really matter who you play against out of those two.

Boussoufa, Belhanda, Ziyech, Harit and Amrabat are more entertaining to watch than the Danes though, come on :p

I mean you guys are a better team of course, because you have a better mix than the Morrocans, but in terms of pure talent Moroccans aren't bad.

Both Uruguay and Russia would rather fancy facing Portugal than Spain. I'm sure.

What's up with this sudden Portugal overrating here ?

Ronaldo is not going to score hattricks every game ffs , come on

Had Spain avoided those schoolboy errors, they would have beaten Portugal pretty comfortably imo. Infact Spain have looked the most convincing out of all big teams to me. Ronaldo was just Ronaldo on that day.

I agree. They look terrible except for the GOAT...Then again they didn't look good at the Euros too.

When Pepe is on the pitch, boneheaded errors aren't far behind. And unless Santos gets a handle on that aging backline, Portugal has no future in this tournament. Nothing Ronaldo can do about that.

I don't really fancy this Portugal team either. But fact of the matter is they do have an x factor in Ronaldo. He might not score hattricks in every game, but you never know when he will pop up, and he does have a fucking annoying habit of always popping up when his team need it the most. If I were Russia or anybody else, I would be very wary of facing Portugal with Ronaldo.

They do. Also don't forget they got third place in their group in the last Euros, if it weren't for the stupid new format of the Euro they should have been knocked out from the group stage, as they were in WC 2014. But fact of the matter is they still have Ronaldo, and that in itself is something to be scared of.

Hopefully Morocco turn up with a much improved attitude. Decent team, decent players, but mentally so so wrong.

For a team mostly brought up in France, The Netherlands and Spain there is very little "european" about them.

I expect them to give it all today. Could we see a small surprise? Perhaps, but Ronaldo will liekly pounce on their personal errors.

Russia will face Portugal or Spain in knockouts. You really think Russia beats Portugal? You talk about overrating. One team scored 3 against multiple CL winners. Other against saudis.

Will be difficult for them to bounce back from the disappointment against Iran imo.

And it will probably also depend on when Ronaldo is going to score. If he does so in the first ten minutes, I don't expect Morocco to be strong enough to react.

Hopefully Morocco scores first.
