England looked a lot better than most expected to I think. Rashford and Kane were impressive.
Kane was impressive. Held his nerve well to score 2/2 after being wrestled half the match. However, the rest of our team’s finishing was appalling. Should have put that game to bed in 1[SUP]st[/SUP] half.
Belgium however, looked clinical. But …

Come on, at least wait until they play Belgium, that would be a challenge.
That’s likely to be a dead rubber, unfortunately. I expect both teams to be through by then. Both Tunisia and Panama need to win their next game.

What we saw and we see time and again is that England are mentally crippled when something goes against them.
If we’d lost, or even drawn, then you might have had some cause to make this observation. But we didn’t. Whether they fail this test later on remains to be seen, but that accusation holds no water right now.

England equalised because Tunisia can't defend basic situations. You saw the same half I did, it was the same performance we have seen time and again - flat passing football around the midfield, no tempo. The subs made a difference but also being given free chances 5 or 6 times in a game always helps.

I'd like to see Loftus-Cheek play more of a part, and Rashford has now become an integral player, but midfield does not convince me and the defensive back four of the defenders and keeper I just expect a mistake any time. Against even a good team I'm not confident.

Nor am I! But I'll take the 3 points.

And agree on Rashford. He must start. Shame for the lad that he's had to play club football under Mourinho.

1. $#@!hole Arabia
2. Panama
3. Tunisia
4. Korea
5.-8.: Morocco, Iran, Nigeria, (Japan, Senegal)
This seems accurate.

I believed we were the worst but saudi arabia are really bad.

I can see belgium giving a lot of problems to England. They were a little hasty at the beggining and unlucky not to score, but once the got the hang of things, their superior talent was evident

Spain will still win this. I thought they lost it with the coach change but their system is so set in stone it doesn't necessarily matter it seems. Brazil might be able to challenge them if they find the right balance.

Personally hoping for a surprise winner like Croatia or Switzerland.

I think you would win against Shithole Arabia. But neither teams should have participated in this years World Cup. 2026 will be a shitshow. FIFA are destroying the tournaments integrity. CAPITALISM FUCK YEAH!

Yeh i think the spaniards are the most talented and set. Other top tiers have great names but seem to be in bad form or with system problems like argentina depending too much on messi even when they dont need to.

Spain looked the best from all top teams to me

Brazil second best despite draw

France got a broken gearbox

Germany are worn out and finished

I'm still trying to find the article the football genius Stan Collymore came out with before the tournament, how Spain are on a downward slope now and all the best players from Real Madrid and Barcelona are foreign. Even if Spain somehow flop at this tournament their squad is still strong and they are producing top players still.

You qualified fair and square. Just FIFA should remove at least a team from each of North America, Asia and Africa, and add 2 UEFA and 1 South American.

There will be 8 or 9 asian teams in 2026

There's always the option to not watch games. I think getting more small countries involved is a good thing. It's nice that the fans of these countries get to experience the WC too. There will be more of lesser quality group stage games but even now the tournament really starts in the knockouts.
